Poor installation instructions, bolt holes do not line up correctly.Very unstable.

These were cheap, delivered quickly, and easily installed with no drilling or special tools - just a socket wrench and combo wrench set. this stays up securely when not in use and extends and folds easily. seems quite sturdy and the traction plate gives good footing.

I put this on a 2023 f150. STX model works great

Great value. Easy install with the right tools. Highly recommended. I wish the step pad was steel instead of plastic--would have gladly paid more. Maybe the plastic one lasts forever.

Okay - so I cheated. I had my mechanic install it. The diagram is pretty bad (even my mech said it was hard to understand). He took the entire bumper off - attached the step, then put the bumper back on. He said that was easier for him. It's important to READ THE DIRECTIONS! There is a torque limit for the bolts holding the step on. Yes, it IS plastic, but pretty strong. But if you over-tighten it, you run the risk of cracking it - I'm betting that's why some folks have broken steps. Also - it step fully on the step, not just on the edge. It has a little flex if you are not stepping on it properly. It drops down and retracts so easily, just like the video shows. I could see myself putting one at each corner and on each side near the cab (if they make them).

Works perfectly on 2023 F150 Lariat SuperCrewThe bolt size on the instructions are wrong but nonetheless it works perfectly.I am 5'10'' 195 pounds and i see no issues climbing on this step.IT folds and unfolds effortlessly and I only heard it once while traveling in a big anormal pothole, otherwise, silent !I would buy again without hesitation

Had decent reviews so I took a chance. After about a few weeks on truck I used to to step/down while loading up for a family trip. The cheap plastic step snapped off while I was stepping down off the truck. I almost got badly injured but luckily I landed upright. Contacted seller with no response.

Vehicle: 2022 Ford F150 LariatInstall issues:* Directions are poor* 15MM bolt is actually 14MM* 13MM bolt is actually 12Mm* Nuts that secure the plastic step slide in sideways to the rear of the step, but are not retained in the step, i.e. fall out while attempting to install the hex bolt.Pro's:* Price* Solid metal frame & spring function* Appearance is solid, sliding up tightly under the rear bumper.Con's* The actual molded plastic/poly step is weak, poorly supported by the metal frame.* Directions are nearly useless.I purchased this back in September (2023), and am just getting around to installing it. The directions consist mostly of illustrations which though accurate, are very difficult to understand, as in, "what am I installing where, to what?" This bumper bed step is a clone of one made by AMP Research. (In fact, I suspect the reason for the mismatch of the directions stating 15MM and 13MM bolts, vs. what shipped, is that the directions are also a phto copy of the AMP unit's. I suspect whoever was assigned to create the directions for MITZONE never actually held the hardware in their hands.) Recommend reviewing the AMP installation video and following that. I assembled the unit on my desk while watching their video, then walked out to the truck and essentially just removed two 24MM nuts and one 13MM bolt, slapped the bumper step in place (careful, it's heavy), borrowed a thin walled 24MM socket from my neighbor (the only deep welled 24MM socket I had was two big for the access holes), and just used either a boxed end rachet wrench or a torque wrench with sockets to tighten all the others. Easy peasy. All the parts fit as they were supposed to. The paint finish was adequate. No real quality issues with the basic unit. Now, the plastic step itself is another thing altogether.1) The square nuts are supposed to slide sideways into the front of the step. The bottom of the step is molded to lock into the metal bracket. However, the nuts don't lock themselves in place. They'll slide around and out of their slot, when you're trying to install the hex bolts. My solution was before installing, thread each of three bolts into their respective nuts inside the step, thus holding them in position. Then apply some glue (i.e. I used some old silicone sealer I had lying around) into the nut's plastic slots & let it dry. Remove the bolts, place the step on the metal step bracket and lock it in place, then reach under and reinstall those bolts into the (now properly aligned) nuts.2) The step is made of reinforced plastic, but only a small part of the metal bracket actually supports the step. In other words, 95% of the plastic step is unsupported. As a result, the step flexes substantially with any weight (i.e. I'm 270 lbs). I could see how it might break off. I intend to ensure my foot is over the section of the step that connects to the metal bracket, making it less likely that it'll break off. Maybe the guy whose step broke the first time he tested it was unlucky, but then again, I'm not risking it.I'm happy overall (i.e. 4 stars), but I probably wouldn't buy this item again due to that fundamental weakness. It's possible the AMP unit is just as weak, or their step may be metal reinforced, or simply a thicker and stronger plastic. MITZONE did a terrific job on the basic mechanics of the metal spring bed step, but a poor job with developing that plastic step. Which is sad, because for a few more dollars on a very simple part, they could have made this thing a much better, more reliable, 5 star item.

I looked at similar parts for 3x's the price, and settled on this based on reviews I read. The instructions were easy to follow, and dead on. I am very mechanical and have all the tools, but zero issues! It does flex a little, which is fine for me as I am not in and out of my truck all the time like I was when I was a licensed contractor. For basic regular use and getting in and out of the bed when you need to, I highly recommend this step!!
