I ordered this cable to repair my mid 2012 MacBook pro. The cables mounting holes felt like they may have been a tad off, but it mounted in fine. I would suggest swapping the HDD mount with the original one. The quality of the actual cable is good, plugged in without issue and fixed my MacBook. Included tools are of decent quality as well, unlike most included tools. Overall, it's a good quality part for the price.

Had ordered one by mistake that didn't have the bottom attachment. This one not only is the exact right one but came with some neat free tools! Computer working and happy one again. This is my second time replacing the same part (forget which one I bought last time), but this one is excellent and again I appreciate the tools

After spending a week or so trying to reinstall the os, I finally came across someone with the same problem. So I ordered this and it worked perfectly!!!

The flex works perfectly well, with a simple YouTube tutorial you can install it without any problem. They send you some tool but if you have your own it is easier to install, immediately responds my Macbook.

Tutto perfetto.Spero di esservi stato utile.

My brother's 13-inch mid-2012 MacBook Pro was exhibiting extremely long boot times, slow & failing file copying, and long periods of beach-balling. I was fortunate to have the same laptop myself to troubleshoot with. After swapping RAM, the hard drive, and the hard drive ribbon cable, I concluded that the cable was the problem. I later learned this is a fairly common issue with these MacBook Pros.I left my working ribbon cable in my brother's laptop so he could take it home. I then purchased this cable to replace the failing one. Although I didn't use them (I have my own took kit), this kit provides screw drivers and spudgers to access and replace the ribbon cable. I appreciate the reinforcement eyelets around the part where the ribbon cable bends and gets screwed to the motherboard. This bit of additional structure gives me better sense of protection around where the screws might have the potential to damage the cable. Replacing the cable only took only about ten minutes and is quite easy. My computer is back to being fully functional. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one of these cables.

Installed this kit in my Mid 2012 MacBook Pro after it got stuck under a folding back seat of a car and would no longer boot up. It could not recognize the boot drive/hard drive. Instruction Videos for install of MacBook ribbon cables like this are pretty easy to follow. If you are even a little handy and willing to do the work, this should be an easy fix and a great affordable option for DIY repair.

Ok so I got this 2012 Mac and everything seemed ok until out of the blue started to shut off by itself and keep telling me that system crash because of something wrong, I did the whole check and it came back to the same problem something about the battery and the hard drive, I knew the hard drive wasn’t the problem because I just updated it and nobody had any idea of what the problem was, I called Apple and since the model is a 2012 they could not help with that older model, so I kept searching until I saw an old question and the main answer was this part to be replaced, so since I was getting frustrated about the shutting down and unable to download the new update for the Mac, I took the chance and there it is, finally working like new, I was able to update my Mac and since then no more shut downs, the installation it’s very easy even when the tape on the cable did not hold that well, I was able to still put it in and now no more problems.

I purchased a 1TB Samsung QVO SSD for my MacBook Pro A1278 Mid-2012. Computer was running smoothly for about a month or so, then one day after waking up my computer from sleep (as I never turn it off) I noticed I would get random slow downs for little-to-no processing activity. Ran disk utility, fresh OS install, nothing worked. Strangely enough when I plugged back in my 7200rpm HDD internally it ran BETTER than the SSD. I would also get no slowdown when I would plug the SSD to a USB enclosure and booted from there.Did some Apple Support forum searching, and found that the issue was either because TRIM was turned off, or the internal HDD cable went bad and cannot keep up the read & write speed of the new SSD. After enabling TRIM and no noticeable change, I purchased this as a last ditch effort before calling the SSD a lemon.Install took about 5 minutes. The included screwdrivers worked well. After connecting and booting I am back to normal! I wish I would have bought this before wiping my drive. The only reason why I didn't buy sooner was that I am diligent with HD backups, so I didn't lose anything for trying before buying.Definitely recommend purchasing and installing from the beginning if thinking of upgrading to SSD. With the cable being relatively inexpensive and easy to install, it's worth the swap while conducting the upgrade itself to avoid potential issues down the road.

I bought a secondhand MacBook Pro 2012 13" to replace my recently dead 2011. It was good deal but needed an SSD and a RAM upgrade to bring it up to speed. RAM installed I set about trying to install a new SSD. The SSD would format fine in an external caddy but every time installed it into my new MacBook and I tried to install Mac OS via a bootable USB stick, the MacBook would either not recognise the SSD or if I did manage to get it to be recognised , the install either failed or the one time I did get it to install, it wouldn't start and instead gave 'flashing folder' (is not found) errors. The weird thing was that every time I put the original mechanical HDD back in, the MacBook would start fine. After much confusion, frustration and googling, I fould that a lot of other people had similar problems with 2012 MacBooks. Seems the SATA cable that connects the drive to the logic board can fail over time or even if it works with a HDD, is unable to deal with the increased throughput from a faster SSD.So with nothing to loose, I bought this kit. After a 10 minute install, I was up and running, SSD recognised and was installing Mac OS.Install successful and new MacBook living up to its fully potential. Man it's amazing how slow a mechanical drive is once you're used to SSD!! So glad to get this sorted. Great life saving, reasonably priced bit of kit!
