Moen informed me that this 95606 part is the replacement Chrome hub for the rotate-only shower handle 95552. I bought it and it fit perfectly.To remove a stuck hex screw from this hub, instead of breaking the whole assembly, I used a small drill bit to drill deep in the hex screw, then used a little bigger drill bit to drill in first, then reverse quickly and the hex screw came out nicely.

I was concerned I wouldn't be able to find a Monticello replacement, but there it was! Had a bit of a time getting the old one off - backplate is a different design and needed a smaller Allen wrench than the one in the kit. 100% satisfied!

My shower handle was from 1996. Had to cut off the metal collar and handle. This works fine but is loose even when tightened. Had to add two lockwashers so that it could be solid.

The adapter comes with this hub is made from plastic instead of metal like the old one that we had. The insert’s design is different, but it works with my existing faucet. Replacement is easy.

There were the internal design and parts changed. Overall it fits and works, but there is a gap created and feels that handle would fall off, tho it fixed. Some add-on must be inserted.

I want to make sure that the part is same my existing hub. I called moen by providing the part number (see image of old and new) and confirmed for accuracy. It worked perfectly as this is the correct replacement unit for the Montecello faucet hub. It will cost $$$$$ when you order thru Moen.
