If you are just a beginner like me, this is a really affordable way to start. The Bass came nicely set up and the flamed top has a beautiful understated look - the neck feels great. The Fretboard is probably some kind of synthetic material I am guessing - I really don't know, but it looks and feels great and the fretwork is nicely done - no sharp edges and no buzzing. I bought a cool 10" Bass Amp with the money I saved on the Bass.If you look hard you will find some flaws - like the cutting around the pickups is a little imprecise, and mine only had one small flaw in the finish on the back of the body, while I know someone who bought the same bass and his had a dent on the bottom of the headstock. But really - I couldn't be happier with the overall quality, playability, sound and especially the price! I was lucky to find it on sale for $182...but I would haver paid more.

I'm very impressed with build and quality of this Bass. Out of the box you could jamm with it, and for someone who's learning, you can just tune it and go. For more advanced musicians, a few tweaks will make it feel more comfortable and better sounding. There's nothing bad to say at all about this instrument. The purchase and shipping was excellent as well.

I got this bass literally on a whim due to its look and price. Thirty plus yrs ago I played a Fender Standard Jazz bass.Over the years I gravitated to high end active basses.(EB Musicman, Lakland and Spector) But recently I started gassing for the bass that started it all for me. But didn't want to pay a lot. This bass solved the conundrum. You get classic tone ,looks and playability for a fraction of the cost of this basses famous "cousin"

This is a solid bass I'd recommend to someone who can do a good setup or is willing to pay for one. If you have the knowledge and tools to do a full setup (fretwork, nut, restring, set relief, intonate, etc) you will have a KILLER bass for the money plus a little time investment.I purchased mine from the manufacturer for about a buck forty. For that price expect some corner cutting. The fret work on mine was a little sloppy, the nut was not filed and had too much glue, and the pick guard was cut poorly. The fretboard also had a few small dings in it, the pocket where the neck and body meet was a little large, and it got a little indent on the headstock where the shipper slammed it around. The box it shipped in was beat up good. I could've returned it but there were no more in stock at the time. My bass was #30 of #30 in that run.The good news is that with some work and a little investment you can have an instrument that is comfortable to play and sounds very good. In addition to doing a setup, I oiled the fretboard and filed down the sharp frets. I also restrung the bass with my preferred flat wound strings and it now sits next to my computer when I want to noodle around or play Rocksmith. It is one of my most played basses and easily the best bang for the buck bass I've ever bought.Overall this is a good looking bass that would suit anyone from beginner to intermediate. While mine was playable out of the box it shines with a good setup. I was debating on whether I should give it 4 or 5 stars. The value is what really puts it in 5 star territory.
