Not to be overcomplicated. For a dampening gel that sits on top of the head and oscillates WITH the head, it works just perfectly. They're cheap, easy to use, and the best part is... you can clean them with water and dish soap and reuse them.

You can notice a difference when you hit the drums esp on snare drums -They work well

I bring several packs of these when I tour and have to play kits that belong to other bands / backline kits (i.e. drums I can't tune). Allows me to quickly adjust overtones, and doesn't leave a residue like tape. They're strong enough to stick to resonant heads, too!

Saw a review where the Darko was given these to use under the Buchardt S400 MKII in quantity 4. I have custom stands under my KEF REFERENCE 1 speakers with a few soft durometer O-rings to damp the interface. I thought these were doing a fair job but when I placed 6 of these gel pads under each speaker, I measured much less vibration at the top of the speaker and from the bottom of the stand. This seems to be good at providing decoupling between speaker bottom and stand but without the speaker becoming too mobile (think gelatin).

Thats what one of the drummers called these, anyway. I run sound occasionally for bands and fests and these little things are a show saver when the kit is boomy, toms are resonant with the room or to each other, or if its an outside gig and damper rings just fly away in the wind. Great for that tight "studio" sound in a live environment and can really do wonders for an out of tune or low end kit. Minus one star for cost, these are basically $1 each strip and that seems a bit rich for a short piece of sticky thick silicone tape. Maybe I'm just jealous that I didn't think of this!

This Moongel works very well for studio or live performance applications! I used to mainly used O rings or mute rings, but when close mics are needed on the toms, especially the floor toms, buzzing would occur where the rings meet with the drum hoop. These are great, no buzzing and they allow the nice warmth of the drum to sing. I have also used one on a large 22" ride to calm it just a bit. I played around with the placement and it worked very well! Overall very pleased with the product. Happy jamming!!

I was amazed when I hear my drum set sound change after put only one of this over the tom heads... At first I was thinking ti was a little bit expensive (cause I have to pay shipping too) but now, I really think this worth every dollar I paid... Good choice for every drummer...
