My property is in the woods, and when walking my dog in the trails behind my house the gnats, mosquitoes, and other flying insects are a constant source of irritation that has been so annoying that I decided to give the head net a try. It works well hanging off a baseball cap, but works better with a pith helmet which spreads the net out evenly on all sides completely away from the face and neck, whereas the ball cap doesn't. Admittedly, it might look a bit weird, but anyone who lives in a similar environment would find it a welcome addition when venturing outdoors. Of course it makes your vision a bit 'filmy', but that's to be expected. It functions exactly as it is designed to do, and the price is reasonable and well worth the cost.

We live in a little forest in Wisconsin where we have a very large native pollinator garden, and we've had a lot of heavy rains this summer so we are inundated with mosquitoes. Because of our native pollinator garden/protected wildlife habitat including several species of milkweed to help our Monarch population, using any kinds of chemical poison sprays like "mosquito shields", etc., is completely out of the question. The only thing we'll use are natural mosquito dunks that are safe for fish, birds, pets, etc. We have a few different water features that we use them in because we provide water for the birds, foxes, deer, rabbits, raccoons, squirrels, chipmonks, etc. that visit our year regularly, in addition to our tiny fish and frog pond and our own pup who drinks out of them too. Even though we use dunks, we still have a ton of mosquitoes from the very heavy rains. So it's been almost impossible to do any gardening this summer at any time of day without getting attacked by bugs. Out of desperation I got these head nets a few months ago and they have completely improved our outdoor chores. My husband uses it when he builds motorcycles in the garage and we both use it to garden. It's easy to see out of the net, even as it starts to get dark. I prefer to wear it with my garden hat but my husband wears it without a hat and it still works fine. Now I just need the entire outfit!

This head net was very helpful in keeping mosquitoes and other flying gnats out of my face while I was gardening. Life saver!

This is a great product to protect your head and neck from flying insects such as flies, mosquitos and gnats. It is lightweight and easily accommodates wearing a wide brim hat. It also has a convenient built in storage pouch to stow it away when not wearing it. I work on a farm and use it when walking through tall cornfields to protect me from spider mites and other insects. When walking in the fields unprotected, I can feel insects crawling on my head and face. Since wearing this net, I don't feel any bugs anymore.

This bug net is an essential part of my hiking kit. It folds into its own bag and is small enough to always stay in my backpack, ready when needed. I have worn it many times on the trail and when worn over a wide-brimmed hat, it keeps the bugs far enough away from your ears that they don't buzz you. The black is a little hot so if/when I need a new net, I will probably replace it with a white one, but I'd rather sweat a little than have bugs in my face. This is a great value for the money and I often loan my second net to whoever is hiking with me that day. They always appreciate it.

You may feel silly wearing it BUT it does work! I am currently in hot, humid, rural, central Florida (aka ‘The Swamp’), adjacent to a wooded area and lakes. Need I say more? It’s humans vs “them”. Them being aggressive mosquitoes, no-see-ums, black flies, knats, love bugs, and anything else that flies and bites, swarms or is just plain annoying when gardening, on the trails, or when kayaking. Trust me, it had to get really bad for me to even consider a mosquito head net but the turning point was hearing a news alert on mosquito-borne illnesses (malaria, denge and West Nile) all with reported human cases found locally. After a little research, I decided on this one based on its large size, reviews, and price. The Giepht extra length of almost 20” does fit well over a variety of my hat brims (the tilley, crusher, fedora style straw hat and my safari bamboo pith helmet). Regardless of hat brim size there was enough mesh fabric to protect down pass my shoulders including the bamboo pith helmet with the larger brim and crown. The game changer was having the drawcord hem adjustment for easy on-off and to keep bugs from crawling under and in. It also comes in handy for keeping your hat in place during a strong wind gust. As a newbie and eyeglass wearer, this is ultra lightweight, breathable, and well ventilated so you always have airflow and unrestricted movement without your glasses fogging up. You have good visibility with the netting and after awhile you’ll notice you’re no longer having to swat bugs away. Unfortunately, the trade off is having to listen to the frustrated ones buzzing around you if they haven’t moved on. You will also need to watch yourself in areas where your netting could be snagged or ripped by branches. Overall, this is a great defense against mosquitoes and other nuisance fliers. It also protects against the occasional run in with a spiderweb or silks. It’s perfect for everyday gardening, doing yard work, hiking, or kayaking through the mangroves. It is well worth the money for a 2-pack. Keep one as a backup by attaching a carabiner through the loop onto your gear or gift it to someone who could use it. No instructions were included, but it is self explanatory. It comes packed with the netting stuffed into its own pocket so you don’t have to worry about misplacing a storage bag. It is easy to take out, but re-stuffing can take you a few minutes. My only regret is not having bought it sooner. Considering the price and quality, this was a pretty sweet deal for a 2-pack under $10. Highly recommend. 5 Stars!
