In case anyone else is too lazy to look it up, if you want to tap the holes before installation, the stock torx bolts are M6x1.0

These seem to be of decent quality, though they're not as nice as new OEM latches. They seem a bit sticky, but they feel a lot better than my old rusty and crusty latches. I found it easiest to tap the holes with the screws and an impact wrench before installation. Overall, they're pretty good and a lot better than my factory ones.

They are amazingly similar to bmw factory hood latches, so much so I'm certain they all come from the same place, but bmw must kick up the price that much.As other pointed out, the holes are not threaded. But neither are ones direct from bmw (hence why I believe they are all the same). The factory bolts are self tappers, so this is by design. They'll bolt right in

WARNING: Paint them with a clear-coat for metal surfaces BEFORE installing. They have NO coatings, protectant or anodizing on them to prevent them from immediately rusting. ...And you know they will up there in the salt and grime.I was quite leery when I received these as they were just a tiny bit different in shape and was worried they wouldn't fit. But they fit perfectly.
