The contact surface on this Block is foam and gives you great grip when you get the fine dust on your hands , unfortunately the contact area for the adhesive sand paper is the same material and the paper falls off almost immediately . I’m using high quality sand paper and the surface is clean ,,,, until the sand paper falls off and craps up the block with sanding dust . Tools that need repair is time spent on the wrong project as you all know . And tolls that need to be returned are a waist of your time . Love the hand grip but the sand paper grip sucks .

Works great for preparing large surfaces. I use it a lot for head gasket replacements; paired with a strait edge, feeler gauge and the right touch.

This is the most useful block I’ve ever had. It has a feel similar to a dura block but cheaper. The size is absolutely perfect for larger panels.
