The filter looks legitimate, but I was unable to install (despite the Amazon product page saying it was compatible with my F-150) because the pick-up tube was 1.6" long and my vehicle's original filter has a 1.0" pick-up tube. It wasn't obvious until I went to mount the pan.I had to borrow a car and drive to three different auto parts stores to find the correct filter.

2010 Ford F-150 5.4L V8 with 6R80 Transmission.This Filter is an exact match to the OEM Filter I removed during the Transmission Fluid/Filter change - it fit perfectly.The Filter looked to be well made and of good quality.NOTE: I've seen the big messes made by just unbolting and lowering a transmission pan that is full of fluid, so I used a small manual Fluid Transfer Pump that I had purchased from HF to remove as much old transmission fluid as possible,. I removed the Transmission fill cap and small plastic dip stick and put the transfer pump drain tube down through the fill hole until it reached the bottom of the pan, I was able to pump out approximately 4.5 quarts of old fluid before I unbolted and lowered the transmission pan, which I was able to do with ZERO spills or mess. I purchased two 5 quart jugs of Mrecon LV rather than the more expensive single quart containers and again used the Transfer Pump to to refill the the Transmission and again, no spills or mess.Also, make sure you set aside plenty of time before you start this work, it took me 3. 5 hours start to finish. The 5 pan bolts at the back of the pan, just above the exhaust crossover pipe are a Real Pain to remove and reinstall even with all the needed tools, so be prepared. I was very careful when removing the pan so I was able to carefull clean and reuse the metal and rubber pan gasket.

This will not fit a 6R60 transmission. This is for a 6R80. The pan needs to have the bowl sump. If your pan os flat , its a no go. If you have the bowl sump then it will fit. 6R60 filters have a side inlet. This has a tube that sticks down and will interfere with the pan. Dont try and cut it to make it fit. You'll mess up the suction flow.

I did the transmission service at 110k miles and swapped out the fluid and filter. You'll have to drop the transmission oil pan (accessible from underneath the truck - nothing needs to be removed to get access). Make sure you drop one side of the pan to let the oil drip out - there is no drain plug. Also make sure to catch the oil in a big drain pan. I used those aluminum baking pans for the oven. Those are $2 each and are a great size for this project. Once the oil pan is dropped, you can pull out the filter. There is a little o-ring on the tube looking thing - make sure that comes out with the old filter. If not, get a screw driver or something to get it out before you put the new one in. It's a "friction" fit. Plug the new filter in and it will "dangle" in place until you reinstall the oil pan. There is a fill hole on the side of the transmission. You'll have to get some sort of pump to pump the oil from can into the housing. Simple to do - but quite messy. Overall not a bad job at all - easy DIY. Search on Youtube for videos.
