2000 GT mustang Automatic transmission. Works perfect. Says its not compatible but other websites confirmed fit. Amazon thinks this part doesnt fit because they think all 99-04 Mustangs are manual transmissions.No more CEL code! No more OD light flashing!

Should have been a easy repair but old part welded on transmission shaft due to corrosion. Had to cut old switch off and spend 2 hours wire brushing transmission shaft so I could slide new switch on. Don't forget to align the timing line up with truck in neutral. Fixed all my starting problems and the failure of keeping truck in park. Would make a clicking noise due to parking paw solenoid not fully engaging paw. overall because of corrosion 1 hour job took 4 hours!!

I purchased this item for my 2000 ford ranger 3.0 automatic with 122 k plus miles. I had difficulty with gear selection and starting due to the ECM intermittently receiving a signal from the unit. There are more pens in the original than in the replacement, but fit and function was perfect. My mechanic and I seem to agree on that Ford may be using this unit for other applications which explain the difference in pins. It is an excellent value not only in price from Amazon and if the service life of the last unit (almost 18 years) is any indication, a great value in durability as well.
