For the DIY you have to find the part# for this kind of thing on Ford Parts Giant or similar parts site to get a correct part (hopefully). Aftermarket wiring harnesses/connectors fit aftermarket switches or products!! So to find this motorcraft part on Amazon was a blessing for me. This was for a crank sensor on 2008 Ford Escape. Was not exact but workable.

Lining wire peeled off copper wires and had to take everything back apart which takes 3 hours and repair connector. Not happy at all.

exact housing , just make sure on wiring before you solder. then shrink wrap and tape up to wire cap.try to leave connector wire the same length inside cap as it was.

Had a code P1289 on my 2007 f150. After researching all signs pointed to this harness. Sure enough a mouse had chewed it all up. This harness took 5 minutes to replace (after the alternator was removed). Worth the money and glad it was available!
