Purchased this as mine was going out and melting the rubber on the plug. It’s same brand I had on the boat before. Was very easy to install, 2 wires and 2 screws. Did not come with new screws. The door has changed a little since my old one and it’s not very easy to open the lid to plug in. Overall, pretty happy with it. Used it a couple times now since installing and works well

I have an older boat that I just bought and bought a new trolling motor for it. The power plugs did not match so I ordered this receptacle so I could use the new trolling motor. when I was going to wire in the new connections, I found that the old receptacle had 3 wires to it instead of 2. I was going to return them. On the way to the UPS store I stopped buy a Marine dealer and talked to them. They said my plug on the boat was obsolete and that I needed a 2 wire connector and told me how to wire it in. Easy fix! Trolling motor works fine...Now I am ready to go fishing!!!

Added a trolling motor to our pontoon. Thought of this to make for an easy plug. I picked up the male as well , simple straight forward install and it's working fine.

The Minnkota plug replaced my worn out Minnkota Plug. Since MinnKota wants 80 bucks more I decided to replace it with the Motorguide. You must replace both the male and female parts, but not only do they work, the female receptacle fits perfectly (Including the screw holes) in the hull into the hole where the female MinnKota receptacle was. As other reviews have noted, the fit is extremely tight and difficult to plug in. To remedy this, I sanded a bevel on the bottom edge of the male plug. It now goes in easily and is still a very snug fit.
