So this is not ARP, do not confuse yourself. This entire kit probably costs as much as a single ARP stud. This is also the "Early" style LS bolt sets - the ones with different length head bolts. If you follow Matt "Sloppy Mechanic" you will see that he routinely re-uses factory head bolts, and while I am sure it works for "let's send it" engines, I am in this engine for the long haul. I cannot measure the hardness or tensile strength of these studs, but I am sure it comes from the same factory that produces other imported stud kits.I read a test someone did on ARP vs imported stud vs factory bolts and more or less, don't buy these thinking they are better than OEM. However, DO buy them if you do not want to deal with single use torque-to-yield fasteners. And that is the primary reason I am using these in my 99 LQ4 engine, I want to be able to pull the heads as needed and not need to worry if I torqued them the wrong degrees. The price of this kit is easily less than an ARP set, or even a OEM set from the dealership. To me, this is a no-brainer.

The Rat Fink sez,This is a nice set of generic LS head studs, they just come in a plain box and baggies. They are more than adequate for a mild hot rod.I don't have any complaints except that they ended up being the wrong version for my engine. The 04+ version were the ones I had to get for my 6.0L But theses will be put to use soon on a 5.3lI Approve of them.
