I have used the MSD products for 30 years. It does the job they say it will do. A dependable product.I would recommend MSD parts.The delivery came 5 days early to.Can't beat that.

This MSD coil replaces my defective Bosch coil. My 1984 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV 2.0 starts much better with this new coil.

Bought this to replace my aging (1982) Bosch coil. 1982 Porsche 911SC. Perfect replacement. Seems to work just fine. Car started. That’s a good thing. This is a recommended upgrade on the Porsche forums. I’m happy with the price.

replaced a red Blaster coil. The old coil was still good however, this one can be mounted at any angle which was necessary for this installation. Works perfectly

Real hot spark from this coil. Mounted it on my boat engine. To contain the massive spark increase also added MSD 8.5 mm spark plug wires. Cleaned up the idle and gained a few more rpms. Dont get near coil when motor is running. It’ll wake you up. Don’t ask me how I know. Definitely recommend this coil. Can be mounted in any position too.

I mounted my MSD 8222 coil horizontally to utilize my original Magneti Marelli coil's mounting posts on my Maserati inside fender wall. I did get the Chrome Coil Bracket, PN 8213 as the coil does not include a bracket. The spark from this coil is quite impressive as coupled with a MSD 6530 ignition. Always correctly gap your plugs and only graduate gap in .005" increments until you find the ideal performance for your ride. A bigger spark is not always better, but this coil can keep up the pace well into the 9,000 rpm range.

Its MSD reliability - note if you have a car that uses a horizontal mounted coil this is the only one you can use. The MSD Blaster 2 is only for vertical mount, its in the fine print, I burned the Blaster 2 up mounting it horizontal because the internal oil does not cover the top of the windings and keep it cool. This product takes that problem in to consideration with a potted coil and it can be mounted in any position, and is the only MSD coil rated for horizontal.
