Very solid. Not for the UL crowd though.

Good spoon, stout. Personal issue, it is too short to eat out of Mountain House bags and keep your hands out of the bag/clean.

I've used MSR's steel spoons for the last couple decades. I use 'em indoors, outdoors, anytime I need a spoon. Its my favorite go-to spoon. I bought the newest one in December, 2016. Its nearly identical to the one I bought many years ago. Go ahead and buy it. It will you serve you well.

Best multipurpose camp spoon/tool out there. I have Snow Peak, CRKT, LMF and others, better than all there rest!

Well made spoon that doubles as a tool if you are using a Pocket Rocket. It's sturdy and such a great product I bought another one for home! With this and my knife, I'm fixed!

This is a 'gimmick' spoon; it has punch-outs on the handle that mate with most MSR stove fittings. Unfortunately the stainless version of this spoon has too many sharp edges around the cut-outs; they should have spent a few more minutes smoothing the sharp edges. The titanium version is much better finished.

Firstly I need to point out that I don't use these spoons for backpacking and I've never used the built-in tools. I bought these for road trips: I take chana masala or chunky soups in single-size Thermos food containers and these spoons are perfect for this use. They are lightweight, obviously not as lightweight as Titanium, and sturdy with a long handle. The tip of the spoon, unlike regular table spoon, it rounded with an almost flat tip which makes it easier to scoop food at the bottom of the Thermos container. The shape of the spoon makes it easy to scoop and spread peanut butter and chunks of bread torn from a baguette. These spoons are not cheap (well, for a single spoon they are not), but they will last a lifetime. We use them frequently and are satisfied with them.
