Heavy-Duty Planer Boards For All Fishing Types

B-Kat Boards Offers Three Sizes of Planer Boards:

  • Large Catfish Boards: Our original B-Kat Catfish Planer Boards. With a combination of the light weight foam and aluminum boards, these boards will not disappoint. Large foam and large tracking blade pulls out amazingly even in rough water and with heavy rigs (up to 3.5 lbs). For trolling speeds of 0.2-1.4 MPH.
  • Medium Catfish Boards: Our newest design to our Catfish Planer Boards. Uses the same large tracking blade as our Large Catfish Planer Boards, but has smaller EVA foam that makes it easier to detect smaller fish. Use with rigs up to 2lbs. For trolling speeds of 0.2-1.4 MPH.
  • Multi-Species Boards: Uses a smaller foam and blade for pulling lighter catfish rigs (under 1 lb), or lures (like spoons or swimbaits for striper and trout) or jigs (for crappie or skipjack). The Multi-Species BKAT boards have two arm position holes so you cn pull faster (top position) or slower (lower position). Arms are reversible so you can switch and pull on either side of your boat.

All sizes are made with High Density EVA foam that won't sponge up water; metal components for long-life, even in the sun. Includes a set of planer boards (2 boards), all hardware needed, and twist-lock clips that hold in place with braid or mono. Made in the USA.

I purchased a pair of these largely because they were built by a guy pretty much out of his USA garage. The units are nice, but I'm having to replace the supplied line release clips with the 'cloths pin' style because the supplied units are very heavy duty, and honestly I'm uncertain they would release in use, I can not really get them to release in controlled conditions. I did request info on the clips, a video that touches on them was offered; didn't work for me, maybe others will have better luck. Possibly they could market them with a choice of clips? they aren't installed, just in a bag, so why not. Anyway, the planners will likely give me years of use, I had to modify them though to make that a reality.
