The initial appearance was just ok. The paint looked a bit gloppy and uneven.I turned the machine head a bit to check the smoothness of the tuner. It was just ok.They are not on par with say Hipshot or the like. The installation went well. They fit my 6 inline bass sideheadstock well. No modification needed. Despite the finish deficiencies and tuner smoothness issues, I was exited to see how they work with strings in them and all tuned up. I opened my package of D'addario 8's, which has a low E measurement of 38! Much thinner than a standard set of 9's or 10's. I installed the low E string into the appropriate tuner and tried to engage the locking mechanism. The thickness of the string prevented the threads of the locking mechanism from engaging. I tried applied a slight amount of pressure to see if I could get the threads to engage. They did not. The first photo shows the maximum opening just before the threads disengage. The second photo shows the locking mechanism closed all the way. Unfortunately, I could not use these tuners. I have see positive reviews on Amazon and Youtube.I guess it's possible that I received a defective product. As to why I returned them and didn't ask for a replacement of the same one? I felt for the close to $50 they cost with tax, they were not worth it. These are the "Musiclily Ultra" model. Not much about them is "Ultra"

You can not get a .042 OR a .032 (low E OR A) string thru the post hole with the lock rod attached. The rod in the lock nut is too long. I could only use 4 of them ( D G B & high E). And NONE of them held the strings.I don't understand, because I bought the ones that were 15 dollars cheaper back in March, and they work, as well as a cheapo could. These look nice, the weight feels good, but they're awful. THEY DO NOT LOCK! Yet, they're advertised, and sold as "Locking tuners". I've been playing, and working on guitars for 58 years, and this is the worse product I've ever paid for.

These are great for the money. The quality of the metal seems very good , not light weight garbage I’ve seen on some budget hardware.They look pretty good too, kinda reminds me of the old sperzels.Bottom line , I’m pretty sure these work just as good as my Gen 3 PRS locking pegs

The pack came with only 5 washers.The length of the locking rod is too long to work with wound strings without grinding about 1mm off the tip. Once the wound string is threaded through the tuner hole, the locking mechanism can’t be inserted far enough to catch its threads. In the as delivered state they are non functional for the advertised purpose.

Musiclily is my go-to when it comes to parts for modding budget guitars. They're almost always solid. I can't count how many times I've put their tuners into Squier and Epiphone custom projects.

I started building guitars a few years ago, and as an upstart, I have to try and balance cost and quality, so the search is always on for the best for the buck. I have used a number of different locking tuners, and just bought my first set of the Ultra 6 in line locking tuners, and I immediately knew my search was over for the perfect tuner. They are very accurate, stable, they lock the string down like they should, and the 19:1 ratio is fantastic. I will be using these tuners exclusively!

These tuners arrived missing a washer, a set screw, and a bushing. I contacted Munich Hunter at Musiclily, and was given the option to have the parts shipped from China, or accept a partial refund and order the missing parts from the Musiclily store. I had the parts shipped from China. I took a look at the link. Many may notice that this guitar has a mixture of gold and black hardware. It was the missing washer, screw, and bushing that gave me the idea. Not only are Musiclily parts great, but their Customer Service is awesome.

Installed very easy on my partscaster. Locking feature works as expected. Only issue I had was that one of the tuners seems to slip even after I tighten it, otherwise this is a good deal for the money.
