If you purchase this knowing that you have a charge per room that you do a test on, it works great. It saved me a lot of money by doing the test at home myself on 4 rooms as opposed to having a professional come out. The local test company actually recommended this first to rule mold out as a problem and it worked great. Showed allergens as well that were in the house. I have recommended this to others needing the testing done.All the bad reviews seem to be related to the additional costs per test. But it's still much cheaper than a professional test and the same results.

basically lit $500 on fire between the kits and the testing. you don’t really get a lot of communication on the back end. “some mold detected” or no mold detected…. a waste of time and money.

They charge additional money to process EACH cartridge, they even charge you $39 for he outside air test cartridge! Then they charge you extra for shipping it to them! On top of that, they made me pay for express 2 day shipping and said 3-5 days processing, so 7 days total to get results. NOT TRUE! They didn't even say they got my sample until 5 days later, and then sent a message trying to make me pay $15 more per EACH SAMPLE to get the results quicker! Scam company, and you can have a professional come test your home for the cheaper than the final cost of this horrible company!

If you've ever had a "professional" mold test, you know what happens. Some guy comes to your home with a big machine. He puts it in different rooms and takes air samples. HE charges you $200-700 per room (depending on the company, urgency, etc. Then, he emails you a report that may or may not make sense depending on the company you use. Depending on how many rooms you had tested, you could be looking at thousands of dollars.This device puts an end to all of that. You take the air samples yourself, then send them to the lab who tests them for $40 per sample. So five rooms + control = 6 samples = $240. + $100 for the kit. + 2 day shipping (roughly $20) $360 for a five-room mold test. That's a good deal.The only part that is shady is that a one-room kit is $60, and a 5 room kit is $100. As far as I can tell, the only difference is that there are a few more sample containers. The machine should just cost $75, and you should be able to buy extra sample containers for $1-2 each.Anyway, I thought I'd clarify this pricing stuff to peole. If you need a mold test, this can save you a fortune.

I just received this - simple to use but I wish I read reviews before about the additional lab costs. 35 for EACH sample air and surface and an additional 10 dollars for shipping! Would of rather had a professional come out if I am paying 400 for the product and samples. Would not do again.

Pump died when I attempted to take the first outside sample. Low quality. Will try a different brand.

I have ordered this 2 times and the cartridges are expired, I own a business and with it being expired, my mold detective cartridges, it puts my business in a risk of getting sued
