The extension housing was not deformed as far as I can tell, but a little transmission fluid seeped out between the metal collar of the seal and the housing. A little bead of gasket maker solved this problem. May not have been the product's fault. May have been my own insufficient installation . . . ? Also the supplied bushing was a little too thick to accommodate my driveshaft so I had to bore it out a bit. Maybe I bored it out too much which is why it dripped fluid. Either way it took a little work to get right. Did not work out of the box, but that is how it goes sometimes.
