This is a good seam ripper. The tips are sharp and effective, the rubberized grip is comfortable - no one wants a seam ripper to slip, after all. I especially like that it has a very firm, sturdy cap. A lot of seam rippers I have do not have a cap that fits securely, so it could come off in your sewing bag. These fit very snugly, and protect the tip and protect your hands, too. It’s a nice seam ripper.

I’m an avid quilter. As much as I wish this wasn’t true, ripping out seams is part of the territory, and I rely on good seam rippers. The purple seam ripper in this set is very similar to a more expensive national brand version that I’ve had for years. The shape is easy to hold for a long time and easy to handle with precision and control. Well made, and the flat parts on the head and lid help keep it from rolling off the table. The style of the second seam ripper is new to me, but on first acquaintance it feels very ergonomic and user friendly. My one disappointment with it is that the pair of rippers were not well protected in shipping, and that one arrived with a cracked lid that no longer fits securely. Apart from that, I think both seam rippers are good quality and a solid value.

It happens to the best of us. No matter how careful we are-no matter how skilled we are occasionally mistakes happen. Then it is time to "unsew" our project. Sad but true.. It is so important to have a good, sharp, seam ripper. If not it is easy to damage the project. My favorite ripper was beginning to get a bit dull. Not wanting to ruin anything or the frustration of not working properly I found/ordered this seam ripper. I am satisfied with the way it works and am happy that I ordered it. The price is reasonable. The material is easy to grip and it fits well in the hand. The top is a bit difficult to remove but better than it being too loose.

I considered just getting the 1pk on this, but decided at the last minute to grab the 2pk instead. It wasn't much more, and my daughter could always use it. On receipt, I'm very glad I did. The cap on the purple one is VERY hard to remove. Given that "ergonomic seam rippers" are most likely to appeal to older women, ones who like me have lower grip strength, nerve damage, or other reasons to be careful, that's a big issue. We had to get the man to open it the first time. If I don't put the cap back on all the way, I can wiggle it back and forth to get it open now, but it's still more work than it should be, and my 9 year old daughter decided she was stealing the smaller one because "I can't get the big one open". The cap on the smaller one is similarly snug, but because of the shape of it, can be pushed up from the bottom with her thumb and pops off easily. For comfort of use, I prefer the larger round purple one to the smaller shaped pink one. The purple is easier for me to hold onto. The pink will be a better fit for my tween daughter, but feels a little too small for my adult hands. It's still larger than the tiny ones that come in sewing baskets, though. It just falls into the curve of my hand between the thumb and index finger instead of falling past that. I'm afraid that it may slide into my palm instead of staying on the outside of my hand with prolonged use.Note on color: the listing images looked like the smaller one was pink and yellow, and the larger one purple and white. When received, the larger one is dark purple and medium lavender, and the smaller one is magenta and lime green.
