I really enjoyed these umbrellas, because they provided soft light, particularly for my filming for YouTube videos. At the time, I had multiple clients counting on me to make videos reading off the Teleprompter. I needed to look as professional as possible, and often in a busy home, it’s hard to get away to a quiet area to record. Finding these areas, didn’t provide the best light, but these umbrellas enabled, the ability to soften virtually any light I had to help me look more professional.I highly recommend them for starters, if you have the ability to get a soft box of any decent capability, I would opt for that, but in the event, your budget needs something more simplistic, these will do the job.

Good price on some very basic diffuser umbrellas. Work perfectly with the light stands that I have. Diffuses light at a low investment. Like them!

They are very basic cheap umbrellas, but great value for the price and very usable for certain types of photography and super portable.

They work great! It feels cheap because they are cheap but it’s enough for first timers. Be careful because it’s delicate but tough enough for several uses. Good luck people!

I have lights for some photo projects I do from time to time... but when the world went virtual and it became necessary to be part of various conferencing video meetings it became clear to me that most people have no understanding of lightning. It is weird, but how you present yourself in a video conference is akin to how you dress for work. Bad lighting makes for bad impressions. You could say something brilliant but your picture is poor quality and so ... your message is not as impactful. Audi is important too but that has nothing to do with these diffuser umbrellas. They do what they need to do and anybody who is doing conferencing should get a kit of lights and diffusers. I got these to supplement stuff I already have. Get a full kit and get these to get the most out of it. These are made well enough. The stands are good but understand that you have be very careful when you have stuff up in your house that you're not accustomed to. Wires and the legs of tripods are trip hazards. Be smart.

I normally shoot sports photography in flash-prohibited events, and have a decent number of really fast lenses. However, my daughter volunteered me to take images for her friends' wedding, as they don't have the means to hire a photographer. Oh, boy. I know that f/1.4 lenses can do the job, but I really wanted a way to "fill the dark spaces" that can happen with these types of events when the through-the-windows natural lighting goes away. This isn't just an athlete scrambling from one side of the frame to the other; even if out of a narrow depth of field, you still want to illuminate the guests and background, even in a subtle manner.Well, by using four spare tripods to serve as lighting stands and buying some inexpensive combined Speedlite / umbrella mounts for use with a quartet of Canon 600EX-RT's, I quickly built a low-cost but capable setup to add lighting if I needed it. (I used these little guys to mount the radio-controlled Speedlites and these umbrellas: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07317T52Q/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1)So far, with shades drawn in a dark house, these umbrellas do an excellent job of spreading light in a diffuse, even manner, like a soft box. Pretty good for $20 per pair. I'm pretty confident they can fill in the areas that the event lighting cannot for a small venue.Considering I'll be solo on this gig without an assistant, knowing these Neewer Soft White Translucent umbrellas can get the light from the corners of a venue to any point I need to help a single 600EX II-RT on my camera is true comfort (I don't want to get any dark frames...it's somebody's wedding.)Just to make it all clear, I'm using a Canon ST-E3-RT radio controller on my DSLR to actuate the 600EX-RT's, one under each of the four umbrellas, and a single Canon 600EX II-RT on my DSLR's L-Bracket. I'm using tungsten filters over the Speedlites, and this should add a warmth that works. This will allow me to use my Expodisc periodically to set a custom white balance as the wedding and following reception progress.I'll report back with results, but I'm confident this will work.UPDATE: Two weddings later, and two happy families. No images with dark corners, these little diffuser umbrellas did the job. The Amazon Basics AA batteries were also a great solid value that did not let us down.

I am going pro with my photography and needed to purchase a lot of gear for the initial set up. I purchased these as my shoot through light modifiers. For the price, I am very satisfied with the quality and how the umbrellas have held up so far. These are light weight umbrellas and I will have to be a bit gentle with them, but I have no doubt that these will achieve my goal for them.
