One of the four casters failed. The spring loaded screw that holds the ratcheting mechanism appears not threaded in all the way and its blocking the stem to get threaded in by hand. Thought the thread is not smooth so I used a hex key to help. Now the stem is threaded in but it pushes the screw under it beyond it’s position and the ratcheting mechanism doesn’t work.

I used this on a mobile cart for some woodworking power tools. Small shop so I needed to store tools out of the way when not in use.

A while back I was looking for some heavy duty casters when I stumbled across this style of casters. I needed a caster for a heavy piece of equipment that was stationary most of the time but still needed to be moved around on occasion. I have found that the traditional locking swivel casters still allow the equipment to move slightly when working on it. This is an issue when you have something in a vice and are applying pressure to it. These caster are the solution to that issue with some additional benefits. First of all the casters don't get flat spotted when the equipment isn't moved for a long period of time. Also because the support pad is in contact with the floor once lowered there isn't any shifting of the equipment due to the offset of the caster and it stays right where you put it. Last but not least the ratchet mechanism makes it so much easier to raise and lower the support pad to make contact with the floor. It even lets you "jack" up a heavy piece of equipment to insure it doesn't move while you are working on it. This is the 3rd set I have ordered and am putting them on all of my heavy shop equipment. Best caster for my shop ever!

I have a china cabinet filled dinnerware for 12 people plus the food serving plates. I tried 3 other wheel sets. They broke from the weight. One set had double wheels...it broke too. This set is well made with heavy duty wheels. When I have to move the cabinet I can raise the feet and roll where needed. Once located I can lower the feet and take the weight off the wheels. They leave NO marks or roller lines on my oak hardwood floors.

I bought for my prime weld fixture table (Langmuir style). The table legs were threaded for either M14 or M16 so I had to fill with weld and then drill and tap for M12 to make these work. The quality and function of these is great though…very satisfied with the purchase…just wish they came in different thread sizes
