I bought these specifically because they were advertised as being made from cedar. They are NOT MADE OF CEDAR! Cedar shims I find superior to other wood species like pine for the clean break capabilities of cedar. Plus, the brands that make cedar shims tend to always make the shims taper to zero thickness on all the shims (main reason why I wanted to buy these). These do not all go to a zero thickness. I unfortunately could have saved my money and just bought these at the local hardware store for less if I didn’t want cedar.Update: after using these shims I did find the wood used breaks clean like cedar and worked as needed. However, you could just by these local and skip the inflated price for a non-cedar, non-zero taper thickness product.
