This shoulder rest feels like it was made for my body. It helps support my viola without slipping like no other rest I've ever tried. I absolutely LOVE it!

Fantastic option for players looking for height and stability. I'm a professional player and teacher who now uses this, and 3 of my students recently switched over, too.- First student (mid teens) has played for 8+ years on a BonMusica for its height and adjustability but was really glad to get those same things here with a smoother shape, better comfort on her collarbone, and far fewer "machine-like" parts.- Second student is an adult player who made the switch after trialing it during a strenuous, multi-hour orchestra performance and said it was the first time she made it through one of those services without moderate to severe pain in her upper left back.- Third student, also an adult, is very long necked and has gone through other brands frustrated by them wobbling, falling off during play, or needing to get creative about stuffing extra padding underneath them to fit her shape. She bought her own Neptune after borrowing mine for a week and experiencing none of these problems...and realizing the pad gave her left hand more freedom of movement.I've played on (and loved) a similarly shaped pad for years, hand carved wood, that is no longer being produced. I was *very* happy to find I couldn't tell a difference between that and this Neptune while playing. Though these aren't wood, they're half the price, and I don't worry about it getting damaged when I have to toss it in a carry-on or gig bag - which is a normal thing for those of us who need tall shoulder pads but use small violin cases.
