I had a ceiling fan that the female ( inside threads) were slightly galled and couldn't thread the downrod into it. I was able to clean the threads up with this tool & install the threaded downrod

The edge is blunt which prevents it from reaching the root of the threads.

In the photos and in the comments, it indicated that the reamer comes to a point, but in fact there is a .5mm flat spot on the tip of the reamer, which means that this tool can not be used for 1.5mm pitch or smaller. Disappointed with the description, pictures, and other reviews.
