NICHE DRIVE SPROCKET

What is a Drive Sprocket?

  • Sprockets are rotating parts with teeth that are used in conjunction with a chain to transmit power
  • In order for sprockets and chain to be compatible with each other they must both have the same thickness and pitch.
  • In order for the sprockets and chain to work effectively, all of the sprockets should be on parallel shafts with their corresponding teeth on the same plane.

OEM MPN's: 519-KCS1403K-K001

Parts of a Sprocket

  • Number of Teeth - The total number of teeth (projections) around the whole circumference of a sprocket
  • Pitch Diameter (PD) - An imaginary circle which is traced by the center of the chain pins when the sprocket rotates while meshed with a chain
  • Pitch - The amount of pitch diameter in inches per tooth. Gears with a larger pitch will have bigger teeth

OEM MPN's: 519-KCS1338K-K001

When to Replace?

  • Check how well the chain meshes with the sprocket teeth. In a healthy chain and sprocket combo, the individual chain rollers align perfectly with the spaces between the sprocket teeth and fit down into those U-shaped grooves evenly
  • Look closely at the sprocket teeth to see if they have become sharp at the tips and/or slightly curled. The teeth on a new sprocket are straight and have a flat or domed shape at the tip, If the teeth are sharp, the sprocket is worn

  • Don't let chain maintenance slip past you, a broken chain will ruin anyone's riding day. Stay on top of your lubrication and cleaning practices
  • Replaces chain immediately if it comes in contact with the battery acid. Clean your chain if it comes in contact with salt water or rock salt and lubricate it after cleaning.
  • Do not use harsh solvents or chemicals such as Benzene to clean your chain. We recommend lubricating your chain at every 300-350 miles with a lubricant specifically designed for your chain.
  • Product Disclaimer: Always refer to and verify recommended manufacturer specifications including required tensile strength for your application prior to installing this product. Drive chain should only be installed by a certified professional. If unsure, please contact the vehicle manufacture or a local dealer.

Replaced a very worn out chain on my 1995 Polaris Sportsman (and the sprockets). All the items seemed to be to spec. I don’t use the machine a lot, so it will probably last the rest of the life it.

Good solid chain and sprocket set everything fit like factory except the chain was a couple links too long , easy enough to shorten

This seems to be a quality set. Time will tell. The chain is nice and heavy. Rear sprocket is the right size. It fits perfect but it is somewhat lighter than OEM. My problem is the shoulder on the front sprocket does not stick out enough to allow the gear to be tightened when installed. You can see this in the pictures. I had to resort to putting a heavy gage washer behind the gear to enable it to be tightened. ( had to buy the washer as I did not have a washer that size handy) I installed this on a 1992 Trail Blazer. I hate having to "Macgyver" new parts in order for them to be used so cannot give 5 stars.
