What is a Drive Sprocket?

  • Sprockets are rotating parts with teeth that are used in conjunction with a chain to transmit power
  • In order for sprockets and chain to be compatible with each other they must both have the same thickness and pitch.
  • In order for the sprockets and chain to work effectively, all of the sprockets should be on parallel shafts with their corresponding teeth on the same plane.

OEM MPN's: 5VX-17460-00-00,5SL-25448-20-00,9Y581-92115-00,5VX-17460-00-00,5SL-25448-20-00,9Y581-9211

Parts of a Sprocket

  • Number of Teeth - The total number of teeth (projections) around the whole circumference of a sprocket
  • Pitch Diameter (PD) - An imaginary circle which is traced by the center of the chain pins when the sprocket rotates while meshed with a chain
  • Pitch - The amount of pitch diameter in inches per tooth. Gears with a larger pitch will have bigger teeth

OEM MPN's: 519-KCS0880K-K001

When to Replace?

  • Check how well the chain meshes with the sprocket teeth. In a healthy chain and sprocket combo, the individual chain rollers align perfectly with the spaces between the sprocket teeth and fit down into those U-shaped grooves evenly
  • Look closely at the sprocket teeth to see if they have become sharp at the tips and/or slightly curled. The teeth on a new sprocket are straight and have a flat or domed shape at the tip, If the teeth are sharp, the sprocket is worn

Great chain for the price. Looks great and is just as strong as any expensive chain. I stunt my r6 and it has not stretched at all.

Good chain. Installed a few weeks ago and haven't had an issue with it. I ended up buying a separate rivet master link and replaced the clip style however. The chain is definitely worth the money.

These are surprisingly high quality. The sprockets are Niche branded, but you can also so see on it that it's made by Driven, a well known chain and sprocket maker. I've used Niche chains before, specifically, their X-ring back when I used to track my bike. These O ring chains are fine for daily to and from work with the occasional hoon session. Would not recommend any o ring chain, no matter the manufacturer, for constant track and race usage. All in all, 10/10 quality for your buck.
