Bought as a gift for a sight impaired outdoorsman. He loved them. Added quality to his life.

I'm very pleased with these! I was happy to see how well they worked in the dark, and was shocked at how well they actually did! Upon initial unboxing, I was pleased with all the accessories that come with it. They're built well, and offer great clarity. The buttons light up making it very easy to find them in the dark. It's very user friendly, and easy to navigate the menu. I'll definitely recommend them to others, and are very reasonably priced!

We played in a dark bathroom, and outside at night. these work decently well, took us a few minutes of playing to get all the functioning down, but now its great to add to our camping container!

Just a few years ago the words "a night vision device" immediately brought up a mental image of something costing a huge amount of money. Not any longer. Nowadays there are dozens of the so called night vision binoculars or googles costing a little over a hundred bucks or less. To begin with, let us clarify the terminology. None of these inexpensive devices is a binocular or the goggles, and all of them are the night vision devices in a very special narrow definition of night vision. The front of these devices does look like a binocular but only one of the tubes contains an electronic and optical lens system capable of "seeing" in the infrared range of light. The other tube is simply a source of the infrared illumination invisible to a naked human eye. There are no "oculars" in the conventional meaning of this word. The image is displayed on a liquid crystal display (LCD) which you see with your eyes at some distance from your face. For this reason the binoculars and goggles are misnomers. Technically all these devices are the IR (infrared) viewers. Having finished with this slightly technical part, we can talk about these devices in more detail. Fist off, they have extra useful functionality that used to be unavailable in the real night vision (called thermal vision) scopes such as a camera capable of taking photos and recording videos on a removable storage device (micro/SD card). You can see your photos and playback your videos right there on the built-in display. Some of these IR viewers have both optical and digital zoom capability. The item under review here has the largest I've seen 4.5" HD display and boasts a 4K video and 1080P photos resolution, and is equipped with a 32GB SD card. The day light clarity of the image is very good on display. It is equipped with a 7-level IR illuminator and separate modes for low light and night. The low light mode retains colors but the night images are black and white. For your convenience this device comes with a detachable hand grip. These devices are fun to play with while outdoors or camping or watching the nightlife of animals in your back yard. It is a great gift to your kids. They would be thrilled.

We thought this would be a fun item to keep on hand for when we are off grid camping or up at our cabin which is up in the Sierras and it's so dark at night. Fun to see what we can't see with our regular eyes. The kids couldn't get enough of exploring and being able to see and we were able to find some wildlife as well.

I don't have a lot of experience with night vision goggles. I liked the handle on this unit. It made it easy to grip with one hand. There were plenty of adjustments for brightness. I also thought it was neat that I can take pictures or video. It really was ready to go right out of the box, but I still decided to charge it up before checking things out. I am sure for more money you can get way more options and features, but for someone like me that just wants to spot some wildlife at night or maybe do a little night hiking...this seems like an amazing piece of tech.

I've been walking around my neighborhood in near total darkness, the neighbors may suspect I've gone 'round the bend. When I first took these out of the box, I tried to look through them backwards. They aren't binocular, the flat part is the viewing screen. In that sense they aren't really goggles. Whatever. There are 2 modes, low light and infrared. Low light keeps color, and works very well. Infrared is black and white and takes a little more getting used to.Almost 20 years ago when my daughter was born, I set up a webcam in her nursery so that grandma and relatives could check in on her. My grandma got such a kick out of that, but she'd send me e-mails at night claiming the camera was broken. I tried to explain that the camera wasn't broken, it was just dark, but she didn't quite understand, so I got an infrared spotlight, and it illuminated her crib enough at night that the webcam worked well enough to see. That's a long story, but thats how I come to own an infrared spotlight.I was interested to see if I could use it in combination with this tool, and I have had some success, but only at relatively short range, like 50 feet or so. In my 2nd picture you can see the built in adjustable infrared LED vs the IR spotlight I got years ago. The built in one projects further out, but at close distances, even adjusted to low, still tends to wash out the image. It comes with a 32GB SD card, which is a really nice touch. One thing that would be a big improvement to this unit, in my opinion, would be the ability to tilt the screen. As it is, because the screen is flat, you have to hold it up to your face, but, like 6" away, not right in front of our eyes - it's a little awkward, because of the limited field of vision. If you could tilt the screen you could hold this at chest level, look down at the screen, but not have your forward vision blocked if that makes sense. It would be different if this was goggles that you wear, but this isn't.
