There was no warning on the website that this substance is toxic to animals. It had such a strong odor that I could smell it through the outer box. So I researched the ingredient and found out that it is toxic to animals.

I wish I read the reviews first, I just ordered because I've had an ongoing moth problem and otc "all natural" solution won't work...but my problem isn't bad enough for an exterminator nor can I afford one. A friend used this stuff and it worked with a much worse problem, but just didn't know what to expect. It's poison. It smells like poison. It's VERY strong and you will smell it through the amazon box. Inhaling or skin contact needs to be washed and decontaminated immediately.I put closet clothes in a plastic moving bin then put this on top (it sinks down as it dissolves) and then moved the bin to the outside bathroom no one uses in the house I'm living in. After a week I'll go in with a respirator and turn the vent on and just leave it on for a week). In the few minutes of opening this in my kitchen to put on top of the clothes in the bin the fumes were strong enough that over an hour later I still have a headache and a little lightheaded. Based on others' reviews yeah clearly a little poisoned but will probably be ok. Use rubber gloves when handling, esp if yours are like mine and the cakes are crunched from shipping. Open outside.I would recommend this if you live in an apartment, but regardless you should have clothes ready in a bin from affected area and then just quick open it into the bin outside, lid the bin, then race it to an area that's either outside or somewhere like an outside bathroom or mudroom that can be aired out or isn't regularly used. This is basically a poor man's fumigation.

Use it in a room where you don't keep clothes or have them sealed up. Thus smells like mothballs in spite of the claims that it does not.

I feel like I was raised on mothballs. All my old aunts had them. The odor never bothered me. One day I was getting my cashmere sweaters out and lots of tiny holes. Couldn’t believe it as they were in zip bags. So started looking for mothballs. Hardly anyone seemed to carry anymore. So I go to old reliable Amazon. Bought a bunch. Happily have the all over the house.

This is super strong scent, but it works and the moths will be gone after a few days. clean out the area and find the source to eliminate

I love this product it works great. My closet smells good, and I have had no problems with the Mars eating my wool sweaters, since I have an install the stand.

I have these in my closets for several years now, and I needed another one for another closet which I had been planning to get but forgot at some point. These work well, and you can just refill them as needed. They last a very long time and do not rust. It keeps the moth balls or cakes contained. I do like this container a lot.

This product gave me a headache. Eventually I had to take it out of my house. It smelled pleasant and worked really well; but it's a poison and it made me feel sick.
