No holes need to be drilled in the roof surface with those mount designs but a pad should be used under the frame to provide a small buffer between the metal angle and the roof coating. Use of a pad can avoid reluctance by building owners and reduce the possibly of roof leaks. Of course, this and ALL flat-roof NPR antenna assemblies should be tethered to the building with a flexible steel cable for maximum security. We highly suggest that you install our PVTK1 tether kit for maximum retention of the dish and mount in high wind conditions. Be safe and show consideration, its much more professional to use both a roof pad and a tether kit!

Leaks in a flat roof are a drag. Every time I put equipment up there, like satellite disk platforms or AC bases, I worry about it eventually causing a pinch point or tear in the roof lining. This stuff is just right weight and thickness to prevent that. Just cut it bigger than the platform and put it between the platform and roof. It will spread the weight and eliminate the sharpness of the edges of the platform. Life saver and totally cost effective.

This Perfect Vision mount pad was supposed to be 37.5" x 37.5". Perfect Vision's own non-penetrating roof mount 2 has a base footprint of 36" x 36" so all should be good based on the advertised dimensions. Right? Unfortunately this pad delivered came in at 35 5/8" x 37.875". Not square and the shorter dimension is shorter than their own roof mount this is advertised to work with. Bad quality control in manufacturing (all you have to do us measure and cut). For a protective pad to work it has to be at least as big as the mount footprint, otherwise the angle iron base will be in contact with the roof surface. Negating the whole idea. I sent it back for a refund and got a piece of TPO roof membrane larger than the footprint of this item.

Seems to be just like other examples I've seen of similar products. I ordered an extra one for my needs because the the title said 37.5" square and the description said 35" square.

I ordered the wrong size but we made it work. I had no problems with the product but I can't not say I love it. It is on a roof of a rental property.

Use this under the non-penetrating antenna mounting frame to increase stability and protect the roof surface. It's applicable to flat roofs only. That includes roofs with a slope of not more than 3 ft vertical per 12 ft horizontal. That's about 14 degree if you measure the slope angle relative to true horizontal.
