I tried the higher end of there recommended range for the first batch. They were overdone. I settled on 45 seconds for my microwave, and that produced perfect poached eggs. My only problem is the handles won't stay closed (looks like too tight of a hinge). I cut a slot in a piece of cardboard to hold the handles together, and still let the steam out. Probably not necessary, but the large gap bothered me as a product designer. Buy one you will like it.

Initially, this product was great, cooking my eggs quickly, however they always came out hard, and it was difficult to get them cooked yet soft like other microwave poachers I've used. However, now when using it, the poacher doesn't stay closed and the egg explodes out of the container. This could be bypassed by putting a plate on it, but it still isn't great. I would buy one with small holes at the top.

I carefully followed the instructions. Crack eggs into cooker, pierce the yolk, added water on top, cook 45 + seconds for firm eggs. At 50 seconds eggs were still runny. Next day tried 55 seconds and at 52 the lid blew open and eggs were all over the inside of my microwave. I will not bother to try to use this again and do not recommend.

I have used a few different brands of microwave egg poachers, and these definitely work best. Since they don't actually latch closed, the pressure doesn't build up and "explode" egg all over the inside of the microwave oven. Microwaved poached eggs aren't exactly like traditional poached eggs, but they are much faster with less cleanup.

I had a cheap plastic one for years but it was getting gross. Got these and the material is so much better! Gave one to my daughter who is a minimalist and doesn't like extra things but she lives this and uses it all the time!I kept mine and think it's awesome! 100% better than the old, cheap one I had gotten from those aisle hangers in the grocery store 20 years agoBUT - it says hand wash and you really should. My daughter put hers in the dishwasher, top rack, and even tho it looks perfect, it warped a tiny bit and now doesn't close completely. But she uses it anyway and it still works like a champ.That would just drive me nuts and I'd have to buy a new one... LOLNeedless to say, I hand wash mine (so easy) and it's perfect.

This non stick egg poacher is excellent. I love to make my own egg mcmuffins. Takes kess than 3 minutes to put the whole snadwich together including bacon or saussage. Clean up is a snap.
