Coffee gear companies usually fall into one of two categories... super snobby, overpriced with slick marketing. The other end is zero marketing very inexpensive with so-so results. Normcore in my mind straddles this tough market perfectly. This, like all of their products combines top notch quality with value that is not the norm in coffee circles. This is my third knock box. It is also my favorite.A countertop knock box has to hit several points. First... it needs to be big enough... but not too big. My first one was simply too small. About four pucks and it was full. It was too small to remove the pucks. So, it you want to save them for your garden it was many trips or you had to VERY carefully fish out the pucks to save them. The second one was bigger... adequate for a weekends worth of pucks but the knock rod was not removable. This made cleaning a hassle and again; removing pucks without breaking them was tough. Not a big deal I know... but like most coffee aficionados I'm a bit eccentric! Now enter Normcore! This one has a beautiful wood base which matches my tamp station perfect. Sitting on top of the wood base is a metal container. Heavy, carbon steel metal! And to make it perfect.... a removable knock rod. Now, I can make and enjoy coffee to my hearts content... then remove the pucks and toss in the garden. So satisfying! It's big enough... just this side of maybe being too big... but perfect if you and your partner both enjoy two espressos each morning.Super functional with its size being just right. Heavy carbon steel and wood construction make durability a non issue.I love it. You will to. It matches and looks great with my Zerno Z1. Take a look... and get one. You're going to love it! Over the fence hit by Normcore on this one!

Ausgezeichnete Verarbeitung. Sehr schönes Holz. Schwere Ausführung. Kann ich nur weiterempfehlen.

This is a really solid knock box. I’m really surprised how humongous it is, that I was not expecting, but considering how much espresso we make in this house, I think we can make good use of it this way I don’t have to empty it all the time. The material finish is a powder coat metal along with a rubberized solid knock bar right in the middle. Now the one thing I do wish was those welds looked a little bit cleaner and were a little bit more robust. That’s probably the only questionable manufacturing or quality flaw in my opinion. I also really like the walnut base that also has a couple non-marking feet, holding it in place in the counter works really well. I do wish it was a little bit thicker those little legs this way it could be a little bit more quiet from the knock noise. I do recommend this though I really like the normcore brand and everything I’ve gotten from them has been absolutely terrific and all looks really nice

Hubby has specific wants when it comes to a knock-box. I bought him a lovely square one that he deemed as ok but wanted something different. He wanted something that was taller and fit into his space better as well as had a padded bar. I found it! The Normcore Espresso Knocker Box is exactly what he wanted. It is heavy and made of steel, has a wooden bottom with feet that don't allow it to slip, it is tall (stands about 6") and close to the same footprint on the counter so it doesn't take up a lot of room. It has a padded removable bar making it easy to knock out the used espresso easily without losing the cup inside. That was one of his big complaints - having to fish it out of the grounds with the other box. This is his dream box - works well, loses nothing, easy to use and dump and is durable and stays put. The design is simple and attractive and looks nice on the counter. This is definitely a very nice addition to his espresso station. Brilliant!

This knock box is WAY heavier than you'd expect- impressively so. My prior knock box was nice, but it was plastic and didn't have the heft or the aesthetic appeal of this Normcore version. It's my new knockbox for my fancy espresso setup, the old one has been kicked to the curb! The bar comes out easily for quick & effective cleaning of both the bar, and the inside of the knockbox.

I don't know why I wasn't expecting this knock box to be so big – maybe it's because I've been using a mini Breville box for over a decade, but even comparison aside this is a hefty piece of counter kit. I'm not going to "knock it" on size, as that is definitely both personal preference and what works for your space and use case, but just know this is a bit of a counter hog. The good news is that for higher volume environments you won't have to empty it too often. The build quality is hard to fault here being solid metal with a nice industrial-quality rough black finish that doesn't seem like it's going to just scratch off. The wooden base provides a nice accent contrast to break up the towering monolith, and it comes with attached rubber feet — so between the grip and the weight, this isn't going anywhere even with some spirited knocks. While the general design is positive (I like that the top slopes up to prevent stray juice from a wet puck to fly against the wall), I'd say my main gripe with this Normcore offering is the knock bar itself and how it attaches to the bin. It has slanted ends to fit the curvature of the opening, but because of the nature of this design, it's very easy to put the bar back in rotated too fore or aft resulting in a less-than-proper fit. You just have to really pay attention to the alignment, and this is made a bit more difficult by everything being dark blacks. This certainly does not affect regular operation, but it's something to be aware of. The upside of this design is its simplicity though. If you want a honking beast of a knock box that's built like a tank and you've got the budget and the counter space, consider this another solid contender to the espresso accessory world from Normcore.
