We purchased this to make sauce from our tomatoes. It works great, the only issue we have is that it tends to leak sometimes around the crank handle where it attaches. Since it's kind of a messy process, we just put a bowl underneath that area. It does work amazing well to extract the sauce from tomatoes and extrudes all the seeds and skins.Easiest thing we've found for making sauce from our garden of tomatoes.

Junk. Flimsy junk that leaks everywhere. Even dicing up ripe Roma tomatoes still requires you to shove them down the tube to get them to advance. Juice leaks out the back where the auger comes through the body and attached to the handle. Leak is being kind-- it's a deluge of tomato juice on my floor. My dogs loved it.Screen doesn't clean easily, which is kind of to be expected. The rest of theetal parts are not dishwasher safe as they oxidized severely from the aluminized coating reacting with dishwasher detergent.Spend a few more bucks and get an attachment for your mixer or go proper and buy a motorized standalone unit.I would not buy this again.Amazon would not accept return.

I used this to strain tomatoes and it worked well, although it left a lot of tomato meat in the discard. I found that I had to run it through twice to get the most out of it. It makes the process much easier. I did find that the clamp moved around so I had to be careful that it didn't slip off the counter. It is a good purchase and value for the money. It's easy to put together as well as take apart for easy cleaning. I wish I had taken a photo of how it was packed in the box though. It's about impossible to get it to fit back in the box with the lid closed!!

The mill worked as stated. Milled my tomatoes etc. However, leaked in several places. Every time I used it I'd have to have several towels wrapped around certain places. Where the juice comes out, I had to fashion an aluminum foil cover to keep the juice from sporadically "spitting" out on me and the floor.I take excellent care of all my food prep appliances but the metal screen cone finally rusted out this year. Rather than buy a replacement, I'm just buying a mill for my kitchen aid.

We have a very large garden and I grew a 50ft row of tomatoes and happily they all ripened at the same time and I needed to process all my tomatoes. Last year I froze and then blanched the tomatoes and then cooked them down into sauce but this took all day and I still had the seeds in my tomato sauce. This contraption is a huge time saver. In less than hour I process pounds among pounds of tomatoes. I love that the machine takes all the skins and seeds out of the tomato sauce without having to blanch the tomatoes. Within an hour I had a whole dutch oven full of sauce and popped it into the oven and made the most amazing pasta sauce I have ever made. The unit is well made and functions great. So happy with this machine.

I just got this today. I had a batch of tomatoes ready to go for this weekend but the temptation it got butter of me and I made sauce early. I was able to process about five pounds of tomatoes pretty easily. There is a very slight learning curve using this but once I got the hang of it it was like a knife through butter. Some of the reviews mentioned that the Screen is hard to clean, I'd found this not to be the case. Using a scrub brush designed for cleaning cups works perfectly as it gets into the little holes inside the screen.Prior to getting this, I was using a food mill, so I am very pleased with this upgrade. The splash guard and bowl are plastic. It does give it a bit of a cheap feel, but where it really counts it's made out of durable metal. Overall you can't argue for the price, It does what it's supposed to do, then it does it well. I noticed some reviews mentioned leaking, I did not have such an issue. If you are using this to make tomato sauce, I recommend running the seeds and skins through the machine two or three times to make sure you get all of the pulp. After all waste not want not.

Quickly remove all skin and seeds from my tomato sauce. Sturdy. Easy to use. Wish where the skins came out of was a little further out. Easy to disassemble and clean.

My wife was using her mom’s 50’s vintage Foley to make applesauce. She’s cooks with the skins (for color). It took forever to press out the sauce from the skins and seeds and a lot of sauce was left with the skins. We used this new device and it was amazing. It took 1/10 the time, it separated out the skins almost dry, which means an increased yield of sauce. It does leak a bit around the handle, takes a lot longer to clean, and is much bigger to store than the old device. But those things are minor. If you make applesauce, you really need this.
