When in use with airlock, the grommets maintain a perfect airtight seal and ensures the gas produced in the container can escape. Been making wine for years. Didn't realize how cheap and inferior other grommets are until I got these. They really seal. Threw the others away and bought a second bag of these.

These are used on wine-making fermenters. This is the fourth product that I have tried. All of the others were off size and could not do the job. These are yellow, but who cares? They work!

I drilled holes in standard mason jar lids and inserted these. Then my fermentation airlocks fit right in.
