I'm typically an extra large but with a little research I chose to get a large of these shorts. They fit, though the black under-layer is not totally tight. I'm 5'11" 210, muscular legs. The underlayer does stick down like shown, about 2-3" below the outer layer. The under layer comes to the top of my knees.They are nice to avoid chaffing, and could be worn without underwear. That's not my thing, but I'll allow you to do it.The material is synthetic, which helps with quick evaporation and in general will last longer than cotton.The pockets zip up, which is nice so stuff doesn't fall out when moving around a lot. But the zippers make the pockets uncomfortable to keep your hands in.I'd say they are a good buy at around $20.

That’s intentional. It’s a look. It’s not a look that I identify with, but it doesn’t offend me either, so I gave these shorts a try. Turns out I like them!Pros: * very comfortable to wear, even for long days from morning to bedtime * great zippered side pockets * integrated compression liner — very soft! — sometimes I pull it way up into my crotch to make it not stick out so far on the legs * works equally well with underwear on or off — definitely enough support going commandoCons: * no back pocket * no fly * a bit bigger than a size L should be * extra long compression liner — no deduction for this because you can see it and know in advance that that’s the lookEarns 4 stars because these are super comfortable and supportive shorts. Highly recommend. Would be 5 stars if they had a fly or a rear pocket.

Want to love these shorts, have many other north yard shorts without the base layer in them. I love the fit and comfort, just wish the base layer was shorter. The shorts fit great sitting above my knees, but the base layer is so much longer and is just over the top of my knee

These shorts are great! First the material is breathable and stretchy, which is what I am looking for in work out clothes. I also like having the extra support from the base compression layer. I do wish the compression layer was a bit shorter and didn't hang out of the bottom of the shorts so much.I also like that the shorts not only have pockets but have zippered pockets to keep my keys safe when I go on a long hike. The waistband is nice and stretchy as well and like there is a string to secure them.Overall great shorts that are great for working out of whatever really!

Nice workout shorts. Super soft and stretchy material and I would characterize them as mid to light weight. I like the boxer-style liner for gym workouts (don't like it as much for running). These shorts have three pockets. Two of the pockets have zippers on the side of the shorts and there is one phone pocket on the liner. Note, the liner is not a compression liner - it doesn't provide the same kind of support a compression liner does. But the liner is still soft and comfortable next to the skin, and is fine for most of my gym workouts. I also like the reflective stripes on the front of the shorts. I'm a size M and these shorts fit me true to size. They also have a drawstring to adjust the fit at the waist.

These shorts have become a staple in my gym wardrobe. The design features a lightweight mesh outer short combined with a comfortable inner short, which provides excellent coverage and support. The fit is also amazing making is easy to workout in. One of the standout aspects of these shorts is how easy they are to wear. I can focus on my workout without worrying about modesty, thanks to the inner short that keeps everything secure. The mesh exterior is incredibly breathable, allowing for great airflow during even the most intense sessions, which is essential for staying comfortable.

Nice shorts very comfortable, fits as expected. The shorts have an inner liner with a side pocket, I wear boxer briefs and if your like me and wear the same, the inner liner of the shorts make it feel a little constricting, like boxer brief overkill. Over all these are great workout shorts love the style and zipper pockets, lightweight with the perfect amount of stretchiness.

Ordered the small and it’s a good comfortable fit around the waist with light compression on the legs. I wanted more compression like leggings, which is why I ordered the small, but they’ll wear fine. I do appreciate the zippered pockets to keep things in place since this style follows no boundaries. And though I’m not a camo fan by nature, this one is pretty nice since it’s not as camo as some patterns.I’m familiar with this style of short when sporting, but ordered these for some outdoor fun this time. They’re awesome at keeping everything private when in unusual positions, which occurs often in sports or playing in nature. The compression can feel like a nice hug, although these are a bit light on that (always made me feel stronger). The nylon outer fabric is quick dry and cooling, comfortable, and with the two zippered pockets, very likeable.
