FIrst off the tools, battery, etc were perfect. I got it to working fine after I quit trying to use the instructions. MY instructions said they were for a Garmin Drive 60 and 61 series battery. When booting up the disk all it ever said was this was for Garmin Drive 60. Never mentioned the 61 model. Now watching the video the Garmin device looked just like mine. Couldn't tell if mine was bigger or anything. So I continued on with the video. Took the 4 screws out as I was instructed then headed to opening the case with the supplied tool. Could not do it. The case side I was supposed to pry on would not let me get inside it. Rewound the cd and watched again... yep I was prying on the correct side. Tried and tried and finally gave up. Went to the rear side and there it popped right open. Checked the video again and realized I was removing the back side of the case, the guy on the video was removing the front side of the case. Don't understant that. OTHER than... I have a model 61 and this video keeps saying model 60 all over it. Meanwhile I quit watching the video... took the old battery out, it was the original as 3.7v and 820 mah. This one is 3.7v and 1100. The connector was correct, so I unplugged the old battery, removed it and plugged in the new on. It did not follow the video as in video they removed the motherboard from the case and unplugged the battery. With mine I could reach the battery plug and remove it easily without any other problems. New battery is in and hopefully will charge etc. Looks like it is. But I got the wrong instructions I am sure. Good luck.

The battery is very easy to replace just like the video on You-Tube. Came with 2 screw drivers and the prying tool.

The specs on the new battery for the Garmin Nuvi 61 do not match the specs on the old battery. The new battery may be OK, but it needs to be matched up with the proper Garmin. Suggest that a prospective buyer remove your old battery before ordering to get the exact match of specs.

The battery doesn’t fully charge. I’ve been charging it for about 24 hours now and it only goes to about 3/4 of a charge. And when I unplug the charging cable from my GPS the battery symbol turns red with a “?” in it.
