I work with a lot of OTTB and one came in with horrible feet. He's been on this supplement for 60 days now and there is such a huge difference in the quality of hoof that is growing. I highly recommend anyone looking for a hoof supplement give this a try.

I tried this with both my horses, even though the picky Arab doesn't currently need hoof support. I was curious to see what he thought of it. His answer was clear: he rejected his bucket of grain and hay pellets when I just sprinkled a scoop of this on top. My more laid back, inclined to eat pretty much anything Quarter Horse, who DOES need hoof support, fortunately was okay with eating it. As someone else suggested, if you have a picky eater, you might want to mix the supplement in with the feed.As with most supplements - and especially something related to hoof growth - it's too soon to tell if this is going to have any long-term benefit, but Cosequin is a respected brand that's been around for over 30 years, and their products are supported by scientific research and recommended by veterinarians. I would say that if you're looking for hoof support, this would be worth trying.

These pellets are thin and long. They even have this white blue color which is interesting. They have a strong fragrance so I was interested to see how my horses would respond.The first time I added it to their food I just scooped it out and put it on top. My geldings looked at each other and turned their noses up. However when they realized the supplement wasn’t going anywhere they gave in and ate their food. Usually they are not picky eaters. The next time I put the supplement in first then their feed then soaked it. I stirred it all up after it soaked. That seemed to be their preference and I have been doing it that way ever since then.The weather conditions have been very rainy. There is so much mud and dampness. With winter around the corner I know we will have even more liquid pooling on the ground. I am hopeful that this supplement will help their overall hoof health and keep them from developing anything nasty. I am currently using it everyday and will be following up with the farrier next time he comes out to see if he notices a difference.

Obviously there's not a real good way to know if this product actually helps our horse's hooves, but it feels good to feed it to her knowing it is supposed to be good for her. We fed it to her mixed in with her grain and she seemed to eat it fine. Maybe not as quickly as if she had plain grain, but she did seem to finish it up just fine. We don't give her a lot of grain (but lots of hay), so it would have been a higher ratio of this product to the amount of grain, but for normal grain feeding, it would probably not even hardly be noticed as it's a fairly small scoop that is given to the horse at a time.

I really had high hopes but even my fat pony that eats anything won't eat this. I tried to feed it to 5 different equines and none would eat it. I even added molasses to it and they still wouldn't finish the bucket. I had to give up.

I have a gelding with really awful feet, and supplementation has helped us in the past. I figured I would give this a try. Basically, my horse will eat it, so that's one key box that this product checks. However, I don't find anything to be very special about it. It's essentially some amino acids, some minerals, vitamin E, selenium, and biotin. It seems essentially more like a protein / vitamin supplement than particularly a supplement for hoof health, and the compounds found in this product are likely already being fed in their necessary amounts in any horse's grain ration. Might it help horses that aren't getting much grain? Sure. But for the price, there are a lot more beneficial products out there for horses that need help with hoof quality. I didn't find it to be very worth it to keep feeding, so I won't be repurchasing.
