I am an amateur photographer and videographer and have really been working on my composition skills. When I came across this product in Amazon, I just had to order it. I was honestly expecting some flimsy plastic but this is a high quality product. When it arrived, I noticed the packaging. It comes in very nice packaging. I’m so happy each card came with its own sleeve to protect it from scratches. The cards seem to be great quality and will definitely hold up over time. I have been using them for a few weeks now to help me compose my shots. I throw them in my pocket or camera bag and so far they are still like new. I was worried they would get scratched up but they don’t have any scratches so far so yay! Even when I’m not out taking pictures or shooting videos, I enjoy holding them up to see what kind of shots I could take with proper composition. I’ve done this in my own house, while out walking, and even at the park the other day. It’s fun looking around my environment from a different point of view, one that is in line with composition rules. I could even see myself using these for quick sketches. So far I am very please with these composition cards and I would recommend them to anybody interested in photography and videography or any other artist who likes to double check the composition of their project. I also love that is a product from a NY photographer who started up her own business. I like supporting small, local businesses! Overall, I recommend this and I do think it has really helped to me level up my composition skills. They are high quality, the packaging was impeccable, and they will be very useful to me for a long time!

This is a great add to my camera bag. The golden ratio is around us everywhere in nature but sometimes it takes a little tool like this to help spot it and make photos better. I don't have much use for the rule of thirds card as I think one can 'eyeball' that well enough. The price of 12 USD is super reasonable. I would order this again.

These are really nicely made and such a great idea. I've taught photography for 20 years and will happily recommend these to beginner and intermediate-level students - and honestly I think folks at almost any level might do themselves a favor by working on their composition and framing using either of these (although I would start with the rule of thirds, personally). They're so easy to bring along, and most folks trying to work on their composition could stand to slow down a bit and take the time to really consider how elements in their images are functioning in space - which these will help with!

This is a review of the NYC Photo Safari: Rule of Thirds + Fibonacci Composition Tools, with an ASIN of B0CY3N3Y1G.Short version (TL;DR) - Negatives: Scale. Inflexible. Positives: Beautifully etched. Very beefy.Long version …These are pretty neat, however I’d not stopped to think about what their size would mean in terms of the focal lengths to which they’d correlate. Unfortunately, that’s just a limitation of anything of this size, and no fault of the manufacturer, but it’s something I’d not considered myself, so I thought it worth mentioning. Also, these seem to trade some aspects of durability for others, but, beyond that, they’re quite nice.Negatives:* Scale - so, as noted above, there’s something of an issue of scale here. Unless your eyes are super-elastic, you’ll not be able to use these to visually mock-up anything at shorter focal lengths - that just is what it is due to their design being aimed at credit-card sizing.* Inflexible - I would be hesitant to actually try to carry these in a back-pocket wallet, as they seem likely to shatter rather than bend. Obviously, they’ll be fine in a wallet context that won’t expose them to such stresses, but I feel like whoever designed them didn’t consider the amount of bending that goes on with back-pocket wallets. In poking at them, I can see how the ones a different reviewer was discussing wound up broken.Positives:* Beautifully Etched - the accuracy and precision of the etching on these is fantastic. NYC Photo Safari really put some obvious effort into doing a good job on these.* Very Beefy- these are quite thick and, in some regards, that should work out well for durability, the above negative notwithstanding. To summarize, especially if you’re usually shooting at longer focal lengths, these could be very handy for previsualizing your composition before you go for your camera. Additionally, provided you don’t stash them somewhere that’ll require them to bend, they should last quite some time.

I have used this for photography and cinematography as well, and it is great to have in my tool box. I have used this also when editing photos to get the image that I want. I highly recommend if you are an outdoor photographer.
