Otherwise excellent material as with the other O’Neill wetsuits I own. The problem is the design of the detachable collar /hood combination. Seemed like a good idea but it is nearly impossible to get on by yourself. The front zipper is too close to the neckline which makes it hard to pull down to get the zipper in place to close. A dealbreaker. I notice it is no longer offered on the O’Neill site, so I wonder if they stopped making this design. Strongly advise against buying this particular design.

After seeing so many good reviews, I decided to try the Mutant 4.5/3.5. I'm 5'11", 163lb wider shoulders, foot size 12. Here is the short story: I tried it on at home on carpet in my living room. Getting the suit over my 12 size feet was really, really hard. I was afraid that I'll rips apart. Ok, it's on now. Next my hands. same story, to pull my hands through the tip of the sleeve was almost impossible. Shoulders same story. Once the suit was on it felt good from my chest down. I felt pinching and tightness under my armpits and it was really tight around my neck. Hood was just ok, I had much better fitter hoods in the past. I stayed in the suit for about 5 min and I saw my hands literally starting to change color. Wrist is so tight, that I can't imagine to stay in it any longer. I got Medium Long ML, based on Oneil sizing chart. I can't comment on the quality as I definitely needed size Large. I can't say it for sure, but I don't think this it the warmest wetsuit out there. I'd definitely recommend to go size up. Putting it on and off from 1-10 is 2. Just awful. Hope this review helps. It might be a great wetsuit, just not for me.

I'm using it for kiteboarding and I'm very gentle with it. Rinse every session, dry afterwards. The arm sleeves are wearing out quickly to threads and the collar is completely ripped after using using it for less than a year. If they made the whole suit out of the same material that would help. Otherwise warm and comfy but I’m not spend $600 on a suit that barely lasts a seasonIt's warm is poorly made.

This is the best wetsuit I have ever owned. Surfing in Oregon the water can change in temperature drastically but tends to be 50-59°. This suit has been my year round suit for two years. It is super easy to get on and off and is extremely warm. It’s good to have the option to take the hood off if it’s sunny. I would say durability is equal to other high flexibility suits. (Not great) but it has lasted two years and I haven’t taken great care of it. Overall if you need one suit I would get this one. Spend some money on a nice pair of gloves and boots and your set year round.

Overall, this is an excellent wetsuit. Really flexible and warm with the technobutter. The interchangeable hood and neck are a killer feature, allowing you to comfortably use this suit in a wide range of water temps. Worth the price.
