I was excited to get this little journal, but it turned out to not be of high quality like other journals I already own. The whale image that is embossed on the cover is really beautiful though, and the exterior material feels nice. But the interior features are just not up to par. The stitching on the spine was too tight, so it made the paper warp towards the center. The corners were bent in some areas, and there were a few dents on the inside front and back cover. Paper quality feels thicker than copy paper, but when put to the fountain pen test, there was heavy ghosting on the other side. I'll probably end up using this to write down grocery lists instead of as a journal.

I tested a few different pens and didn't get any bleed-through. The pages lie flat, but take a little bit of coaxing to get there. The top line of the ruled pages starts a little over a centimeter beneath the edge of the page, so there is room for, say, a stamped date. The only problem I have with this journal is that the whole top right corner--all the pages and the cover--seem to have gotten bent or pinched somewhere so it's not perfectly flat. I think this must have happened during shipping or storage, so I don't blame the maker.

I've been using an A5 size journal/sketchbook for a long time. I actually prefer the size of this. It's small enough to put into my tiny tote bag for when I go out and about. It's large enough to get everything I want for the day on one or two pages. I really like the linen cover, which seems like it will be more durable than my current faux leather cover on the A5. The dots are bright enough to see, but not so dark that they distract me from what I am writing or drawing. It works well with my Pigma micron 02, but has bleed through with a sharpie, and slight buckling of the paper with a light water color. Usually I just draw or sketch with my pigma micron or mechanical pencil and it works well with those implements. The stitching on this is done very well. There are some slight bumps on inside cover and some slight discoloration on the gusset of the back envelope, but other than that, it is perfect. Comparing this to other B6 journals available I find the price very reasonable and would purchase again.

Was anxious to finally have a dot grid notebook that is more conducive to sketching along with jotting notes, this is well made and bound tight.

I love this design and the book is well made. I just wish the pages were thicker for this price. It is a beautiful little book and will make a nice gift for somebody special or yourself!

This is such a good quality notebook. The paper is crisp and thick and the binding is solid. Plus the design is super cool.

This is a nice quality notebook, perfect for bullet journaling. The cover has a nice texture and the whale decal is slightly holographic. There is a wraparound elastic to hold the book closed and a ribbon bookmark. The pages had a few stray marks printed on, but very minor imperfections.
