WHEN SHOULD THE IDLE CONTROL VALVE BE REPLACED

4

Incorrect Idle Speed

The car will feel like it’s going to stop as your RPMs drop. An IAC valve that is left open will cause an excessive idle speed. Even though the engine is not running, it will still run very fast

Bad IAC valves can cause surging conditions at idle. The RPMs will rise and then drop to normal

5

Check Engine Light Is On

The automatic car sensor oversees the IAC valve to ensure its adequate function. The sensor triggers the check engine light if it detects a fault

6

Car Stalling

A bad IAC valve can cause a vehicle’s engine not to get enough airflow to move, causing it to stop completely

7

The Car Won’t Start

In extreme cases, the IAC valve may prevent air from entering the engine when it is functioning, resulting in an engine that won’t start or crank

At first it idle like it should. After a month the vehicle idle so low that shut off my Vitara 2.0 in the freeway on a bumper to bumper traffic. It shut off on me twice on the same day. I replaced this part with the old OEM part after throwing a deep clean. Don't buy this brand it will shut off your vehicle after a months of use.

Works and fit perfectly. Car idles much smoother!

The pental length is wrong for a 1999 Chevy tracker. It idles at 1400 rpm and won’t go any lower. Since the pental can’t close anymore. It sucks because this is a good price just poor.I wouldn’t buy if you own a tracker.
