I bought this to be able to protect and transport my Mackie 1604VLZPRO mixer. It works very well for that purpose and the mixer fits just right allowing access to the patchbay at the top, leaving a little space where you can slip a manual or small accessories below. It would have been nice if they had provided better access to that space since there is so much there. Mostly wasted space, really, for this particular mixer.However, the construction is not top notch, but is adequate considering the price. The rack rails are not parallel in plane, making it necessary to shim at least one of the corners of the rack ears on the mixer in order for it seat flatly (I work in a machine shop and have access to equipment capable of measuring these kinds of features, so I know it's not the mixer that's at fault here). Also, there is a cut in the outer carpet covering near one of the rivets in a corner, revealing the wood surface underneath. Looks like it may have been a slip of the knife during fabrication. Not terribly happy about the fuzzy carpet covering in general, either. Difficult to clean and attracts every bit of fluff, lint, and hair nearby. A vinyl or even well painted surface would have been easier to maintain. I am not sure, but it seems that the industry practice for this covering is to minimize reflections on stage, which in such case it is very effective. Other than these minor complaints, I am quite happy with my purchase. I would recommend this item to anyone looking to save a bit for other gear and have a mixer near this rack size.
