Worked great on the burned up one in our AC unit. Great replacement for our train unit.

I have two AC units with the same 5-ton Trane 1200XL AC condenser. Called a local AC company in Phoenix for a pre-summer tune-up (Parker & Sons). The repair tech said the contactors on both units needed to be replaced (even though they were both working fine), and he quoted nearly $500 EACH to replace them. Um, NO.A contactor is nothing more than a large relay, and they are cheap and easy to replace, so I took a photo of my existing contactor (showing part #C147094P05 with listed amps 40/200/50) and started shopping for replacements. That led me to this item on Amazon which used the exact same part number in the description. The photo included with the listing shows a different part number, but the sticker still matched the same specs I was looking for -- 40/200/50 amps. Obviously something was wrong, but I decided to take a chance and purchase two of these -- one for each of my units.Unfortunately, the items that arrived do not match the photos in the listing -- they have a different part number (CTR02573 NOT CTR02576), and different (lower) specs -- 30/150/40 amps NOT 40/200/50 amps. I note that the text of the item description does say "30 amp", but again, the unit shown in the photos clearly says 40/200/50 amps, and the listing says this is a direct replacement for Trane part #C147094P05 which is rated 40/200/50 amps, not 30/150/40.I also see that someone asked about this in the comments, and the seller appeared to give this answer: "The original part C147094P05 is no longer available, Trane does not manufacturer contactors - this is a suitable replacement as it matches the current recommended specifications by Trane."As far as I can tell, this answer is not correct. After some quick searching, I found a different website that is advertising the correct part number (CTR02576) with the correct specs (40/200/50 amps) for LESS than this item on Amazon. That same site also carries part CTR02573, and it's cheaper and lower rated than CTR02576. In an emergency, you probably could get away with using a 30/150/40 amp contactor on an AC unit that requires a 40/200/50, but why take that chance? It's going to burn out much, much faster. Here in Arizona, you can't take that risk.

Old one, C147094P10 were getting burnt out, decided replace it, this new one C147094P05 working well. Very similar to old one, matched design. While there, replace capacitor as it's getting weak. Solved the starting motors. Most common problem in AC units. The relay switcher wiring is easy to switch over. Screw holes bracket is same match as holes. So far, AC been firing up on timely matter. Heck lot cheaper than hiring AC guy to fix the unit. Had my AC unit for 12 years. Hope the new relay switch will last that long again. Found few reviews says less 5 years. Knock on wood. C147094P10 must been discontinued and C147094P05 fits similar or same profile. Same voltage, amps.

Great cheap contactor replacement. I replace my a/c contactors every 4 years even if they may still be working. Too cheap to have one quit mid summer. I keep 1 spare at all times. Easy installation.

This little piece saved the day. It was getting so hot this summer, then the cooler went out. I sent for this puppy, and we were back in business. It was easy to install, and kept the cooler cooling all summer.

My old one burned out. I couldn’t buy this part locally without a license…so it would have taken a few days for a tech to come out and cost me an arm and a leg to get the AC running again. It couldn’t have been easier to replace this part. For other newbies out there, (obvious, but bears repeating) make sure you take photos with your phone or a camera before you disconnect the old part; there are a lot of wires going on in there.

This relay fit my outsde A/C unit. After replacing a defective capacitor (see my review on the capacitor), I decided to replace the relay after 9 years of relay contact use. The original relay worked fine, but due to the wear and burnt of the contacts, I wanted less resistance going to the outside fan and compressor. Maybe another 9 years of use is in the works.
