You need to find out which size double D socket (what these are) you'll need. Both this OEM Tools and the CTA tools socket didn't have the size listed when I bought them months ago. There's a set of these available from Snap On that have 3 different sizes and to my understanding those 3 will generally fit most if not all you'll find. So if you can't find them for cheap anywhere just look for those 3 sizes from different companies. For the original Sachs shocks on a Classic Saab 900 both didn't fit. I used the A137 socket and the seized nut stripped without fazing the snap on socket. So to avoid a headache and make a job easier I highly recommend you just find the one you need.

Great tool for removing the top nut on shock absorber. I use a long 9/16 ratcheting wrench on the nut and put this socket on top to hold the shaft. Works great!!

Worked great for removing the mounting bracket on the rear shocks of my '08 G35. I used a combination of this socket and a pass-through socket/wrench. One issue I ran into is that the socket was not what I'd call a thin wall. That being the case, it would not fit within my pass-through socket. I got around this by grinding down the OD of the OEMTools socket on a grinding wheel while holding it with an extension. It didn't take long to whittle it down to the point where it would fit inside the pass-through socket.

The hole in the socket I received seems to have been made with the wrong die, it was about 1 mm too small in both directions, would not fit the stem size advertised. I retuned it and ordered the similar CTA socket which I received and it had exactly the correct dimensions for the hole.

This socket does what it needs to do. The quality of the socket is a bit lacking, there are no detents where it mates with a ratchet so it can easily just slide right off. The size of the socket is greatly misrepresented in the images. It shows a length of 2.3 inches / 5 cm. First, 2.3 inches is 5.8 cm and second, the length of this socket is approx half that. I am disappointed as I had higher expectations. For less than half the price I can go to my local auto parts retailer and get a store brand socket. Paying the price of a branded socket like this does not deliver anything over a cheaper store brand. That said, it works, fits properly and did not break.
