The mat sticks to the floor well, which is good, but my god does it shed a ton of fibers!

The folds do not flatten out, disappointing.I did remove the backing to empty the non slip feature. The folds would not flatten out.It does not look very nice with the folds sticking up some.My chair does roll over it nicely.

I like this floor mat because it stays in place and protects the floor from the chair rollers damaging it. Easy to lay down the mat and it sticks until you take it off the floor.

Great office mat. Adheres to wood floor. Nice looking. Easy to maneuver chair on. I don't know how long it will last before the fabric starts wearing, but I'm extremely satisfied for now.

My office chair still rolls easily on this brown floor mat. But. from the beginning, it easily acquired lint & dirt. When I vacuumed w/an upright vacuum, the mat would not "release" dirt before wrinkling the thin material/bunching up fibers. So, I had to brush w/a stiff broom from then on or hand vacuum many times on my knees to make it to look sanitary. Now, after 3-4 months the mat is "unprofessional" looking ... a disappointment. It does still keep the chair from sliding out from underneath me when I get up. But, when I stand to get a copy from the printer, I need to slide my chair further sideways off the mat and may fall. I will be replacing this w/a higher quality material, thicker pad. We purchased 2. After less than 6 months of wear in each of our offices on hardwood floors, neither my husband nor I recommend this product.

What I needed, was a very short pile, that restricted my chair from free wheeling around while I am at my computer. It's perfect. Chair doesn't wander, but is easily mobile on and off the surface. It is not a carpet. Think pad. It looks and feels like a carpet, but quite thin. I am able to roll off and on almost seamlessly. And the feared 'glue' on the back is only a tacky surface, that will come up whenever you wish. It is on a wood floor. The color matches the wood. Priced right.

It has a short-hair carpet surface, allowing some traction so that your chair won't just slide across it. But at the same time it does not prevent the chair from easily moving around if you give it just a little push. I think that's exactly what a floor mat for a desk chair is supposed to do. Right? The bottom side is a thin plastic sheet, it does not have any ridges or needles because it is made for HARD floors like wood or tile, not for carpeted floors. It provides enough friction that the mat will not slide around after you put it down, but it is flat and smooth so it will not scratch or otherwise damage the floor surface. It's a big rectangle, with a smaller rectangular tab on one side that you can put under the desk so you end up with coverage there, too. Some floor mats don't have that tab so either you need to lift the desk and put it on the mat too, or else you have the front wheel of your chair falls off the mat whenever you pull up to your desk. The tab is a nice touch. Makes it easier to use, and prevents your front wheel from scratching up the floor underneath your desk.It comes folded up in a tiny package, so when it's brand new out of the box it will have some creases from being folded up for shipping. These should not pose any problems though; the instructions suggest you can briefly iron the mat to undo the creases, but really all you need to do is put a chair on top of it and use it for two or three days and the creases will gradually shrink until they're gone.Bottom line: decent floor mat for use with a desk chair (preferably the kind with WHEELS but should also work for the kind with SOLID wood or metal legs and feet).
