Office Chair Replacement Wheels Set of 5, 3" Heavy Duty Rubber, Safe for All Floors, Quiet, Universal Fit & Quick Installation Easy to Install on Hardwood & CarpetThese wheels are a must for anyone who wants a nice quality of life upgrade for their chair. The wheels are super smooth, super quiet, and soft, ensuring very smooth casting in any direction. The wheels are a little bit taller so for those with cramped legroom might want to take notes. The installation was a breeze and it fit my chair perfectly and it took a minute to swap these in. I have a set of replacement caster wheels that have a double wheel design and I do prefer the double wheel design over the roller blade, single wheel style. That said, the performance of this set was on par with the double wheels. The double wheel design feels a little more stable on sharp angle direction changes. The wheels are rated at over 1 ton, and this is likely just marketing fluff. Most office chairs will have a static load of 200-400 lbs, depending on the users weight. I suppose it is reassuring that these wheels will handle well above that.

These are NOT 3" wheels as described in the listing, they are 2.5" (see black wheel on right in pic comparison); but in the end my husband ended up liking them BETTER than the 3" double wheels we were replacing. I don't know if all 3" wheels do this , but his old 3" double wheels would roll a little too easily, like when he got up from the chair it would fly back, or move around a bit too much while sitting stationary so that he'd constantly have to reposition himself at the desk. I guess he was just used to dealing with it, but now with these new wheels, they only roll when you want them to. They don't fly back or creep around on you while sitting at the desk. So even though these aren't the size wheel we were going for, they ended up solving issues we didn't realize we had! I like that these are solid, sturdy, metal body parts, which is good because he's a big guy, so I think these will hold up much better than his original wheels. So these are good quality wheels, but if you are looking specifically for 3" size wheels in your application, these sadly are not for you (thus, the 1 star deduction)! Otherwise, if you are like us upon receipt try them anyways . . . you may be just as pleasantly surprised as we were!

Smaller than advertised, but roll like a champ. Very quiet and sturdy. Doesn't leave any marks.

I love these new wheels on my office chair! The larger wheels glide easily around my office, which has both a mat and area rugs on a wooden floor, and it’s much easier to go from the 1/8th inch high mat to floor, to over a rug and back again. It does raise the chair up slightly, which is not a problem as the height of the chair is adjustable. What I like is how easily and smoothly it moves, and no more bumps going over dissimilar surfaces. They were very easy to install, and my husband noticed they didn’t “spin,” which was a good thing, we realized, because while they move easily when on the chair, the chair won’t move several feet from just sitting down in it—it’s more stable. So these wheels make it easy for the chair to move when you want it to, but they don’t cause one to slide helplessly around the floor (which was an initial concern I had before installing them).

OMgosh I love these! My other wheels were not bad but I was convinced to give these a try & am so glad I did. My chair is fairly old so the old wheels were a little stuck, but even at that they pulled out (with a little help) and the new ones shoved in.I do not hear much of anything when moving but my old wheels were pretty quiet too.I love how smooth and easy these move. however that is the one thing about them I would give a heads up on. They are so smooth and easy that if you need to stay in one spot these wheels on a hard surface will not do that. I end up rolling one way or another some and having to re-adjust. This would totally be personal preference, and even tho it is inconvenient for me at times I still love the wheels ...... Definitely recommend for a smooth & easy roll!

I have begun to change all of my office chairs to have this type of wheel rather than the hard plastic that comes with most chairs. First, having the rubber is less abrasive to the floor since it does not aggressively push grit into the floor - the rubber conforms better to the grit. Since the rubber wheels can conform to a more imperfect surface that contains grit, the grit or any other small particulate matter is less able to create resistance. These wheels are nice from a few perspectives: First they roll smoothly with what seems to be smoothly surfaced bearings. Second, they are at a height that does not really affect the chair height, which if going to a larger diameter wheel, could raise the chair slightly. Lastly, they look very nice, blending in with the black arms of the spoked chair support. One thing that I have taken notice of lately is the option of getting wheels that have two wheels rather than on on each assembly. I have not found any reason not to get the single wheel ones like this except if you would like to spread the weight on the floor over a larger area, which may be more desirable for a softer floor like carpet. If you have more wheels, each wheel will have less weight on it and thus will not push into the carpet as much, perhaps causing the chair to roll easier. If the carpet is very low pile, I do not know that you would feel the difference between the dual wheel caster replacement or this type and would personally elect to get the single wheel since it is more economical. As far as the price point for this set being under 30 dollars, I think it is appropriately priced.
