I strongly do not recommend this product. I purchased this, given the apparent good reviews and price discount versus the rule-a-matic. Upon first usage, the switch became stuck in the on position, resulting in complete drainage of the battery. $15 in savings is definitely not worth the risk to your boat and battery. I am returning this, and purchased the rule-a-matic instead - which clearly had a quality advantage based on the build and weight of the product.

I replaced an existing float switch of a different brand. Just separated the float from the mount, installed the mount, clipped the float to the mount, and spliced the wires. Took no more than a half hour.

Works as advertised. Easy direct replacement for the more expensive Rule float switch, and at a much better price. Hoping it will last as long at the name brand...

The snap together feature was a little tricky to get it secure. Didn’t feel like a solid fit. We’ll see.

Most float switches available now are very poor quality. Jabsco, Johnson versions are genrally poor, attwood make a decent one but cost is well over double of this one. I reckon you'll get 1-4 years off most on the market MAXIMUM. However, most pumps fail due to poor wiring splices or crimps, so I would use these over a $60 one and use resin connectors and/or heatshrink. Don't over-torque the screws when you fit them to the bilge or the bracket. I would always fit these to a thin/long basic 'L' shape stainless bracket that holds it low in the bilge, for easy install and replacement. Durability 4 stars is because they're all made poorly now, mine are holding up well so far.
