Do not buy these cameras if you think you can use them to monitor you property for free after you purchase them. The software ap is loaded with adds that you have to get rid of before you can look at on line images. Have to pau monthly fee to get add free app.

This kit includes 4 wide angle Wi-Fi cameras, power supplies, a built-in 500 GB hard drive, and a wired mouse for setup. It requires a monitor or a TV for setup. The power supplies for the cameras have a 10-foot cord to give you flexibility in locating the cameras. Set up is not straight forward. The included directions are for a different model and the setup was a little different between the manual and what was displaying on my TV. It is also poorly translated with explanations that are brief, confusing, and/or missing. If you are experienced with security systems like this it may be easier to work through the setup. There are videos available to help with setup and customer support is very responsive and helpful. I started by connecting the NVR to my TV with the included HDMI cable and connecting the wired mouse to the NVR. I was able to get the cameras to connect with little difficulty. I left most of the settings at their default values. You can set the cameras to do continuous, time based, or motion based recording. I left my setup on continuous. In this mode you can set the system to stop recording when the drive is full or to write over old recordings when it fills up. The manual says 4 cameras with a 1TB drive will last about 30 days. Since this system has a 500GB drive it should last about 15 days. You can set the system to send you an email when motion is detected. That is, IF you can figure out how. The manual says mailboxes like Gmail and Yahoo need to set NVR App Password. Then “Login yahoo account, close “two-step verification”, meantime Allow apps that use less”. It looks like they want you to disable two-step verification which is done for security reasons. It seems odd that a security system asks you to delete a security feature!. So far, I have not been unable to get email to work with my gmail account. The quality of the pictures is pretty good IMO. But my comparison is Wyze so experts may have more to say on this. I included a few screenshots from the phone app showing a 4-camera view and a single camera full frame so you can see the quality. There are 2 phone apps available but other than the name they look the same. You can buy 5MP cameras from this company and I believe you can add your own cameras if you need better quality. The system has a ‘repeater’ function that allows you to send the signal to the NVR through another camera. This is helpful if you have one location that is too far from the NVR but close to another camera. You need to set this up with the cameras close to the NVR so it can see them all. Then, in the repeater setup you identify the camera that you want to use as the repeater and the camera that will be too far away. Then when you mount the cameras in your desired location, the camera that was previously too far away can now be seen. My camera on my detached garage is now visible to the NVR.The price at the time I acquired this system was $170. This is on the high end for systems with these specifications: Four 3MP cameras, WIFI, 500GB memory.Pros: Works OK, ability to see cameras outside Wi-Fi range, great customer supportCons: Hard to understand manual (at least for a rookie), email difficult to set up
