How important is this service?

  • If your vehicle is equipped with a variable valve timing system, it needs to operate as designed for proper performance and fuel efficiency.
  • If your vehicle is throwing a Check Engine Light CEL for codes P0010, P0011, P0013, or P0014 is faulty, have it replaced (VVT Solenoid) as soon as possible to regain your lost performance.

What common symptoms indicate you may need to replace the Variable Valve Timing (VVT) Solenoid?

EASY INSTALLATION

  • STEP 1 - unscrew the oil cover, remove the engine trim cover, and then cover the oil cover.
  • STEP 2 - In the spark plug next to the two buttons, the gray for the intake solenoid valve, the other one is exhaust solenoid valve.Use a screwdriver to pry open the gray plastic sheet.
  • STEP 3 - Open the plastic sheet, unplug the plug, take out the damaged solenoid valve ,and then put on a new solenoid valve.
  • STEP 4 - twist the sleeve, plug the plug and cover the gray plastic sheet.

These do not fit a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe 2.7 L as said it would . Mount bracket is to high on the vvt and when you install it there is a 1/4 gap or more between the mount bracket and bolt hole and you cannot bolt the part on . Had to return .

Bank one ( the grey one) the part where the bent flange is and where you screw it to the engine block had to be cut slightly in order to fit.
