The best pepper mill I've owned. I use a ridiculous amount of pepper and have had a hard time finding a mill in this price range that grinds fine and coarse with easy adjustment and easy fill. Produces the perfect amount per turn as well, don't have to sit there turning it forever. Love the solid wood and simple quality - no frills and solidly built.

Very classy looking pepper mill. Gave two of them as gifts. Recipients were so impressed by the quality. As was I. I plan to order one for myself!

I bought several pepper grinders on Amazon before I decided to keep this one. It is just as advertised, unlike some of the others. It is good quality, works well, is very stylish, and not expensive at all. Glad I bought it.

Heavy duty grinder action made of stainless steel. Solid wood body. Should last a lifetime.

Quality and workmanship of this grinder is wonderful. It is real wood and has a good weighty feel, not cheap like the painted bamboo imposters on the market. The grinding mechanism is smooth and allows for a multitude of grinder courseness settings from ultra fine to course. I bought two and use one for rainbow pepper corns and the other for Himalayan salt. Buy with confidence you won't be disappointed. USA company since 1944, located in Oxnard California.

We have had this pepper grinder for almost 6 years now. I felt it time to give it a proper review. It is still working very well. The bolt at the top will still stay tight as needed and allow for adjustment for both fine and coarse grinds. Some times if you accidentally slam it onto the counter some pepper will come out of the bottom but hey, nobody is perfect, but other than that it wont really leak. It holds a pretty good amount of pepper too! it looks just like the picture and fits the measurements exactly. LOVE THIS PRODUCT! Also great to note the finish has not rubbed off at all! Its still as nice looking as the day we bought it!

I bought this mill nine months ago and gave it a four star review. Have to update my review as the quality is sub par. I expected this mill to last for years, alas! It still looks perfect; however, it no longer grinds the peppercorns. No matter the grind setting, nothing comes out the bottom and the grinding mechanism spins with no resistance. Feels like it is stripped out. I only used the mill once a day, therefore this malfunction is not due to abnormal use. If so could return it I would. Very disappointing quality.

I wanted to upgrade from using the plastic disposable pepper mills built into the bottle you buy in spice isles. It's like using kids plastic safety scissors vs a nice metal pair. Simple two handed design; which means you'll have to clean your hands if you're preparing something messy if you don't want the mill to get slopped up. Adjustment is simple, depends on how tight you screw the top on. The tighter you make it the closer the blades. I'm not sure if it's actually made out of walnut. Mine doesn't look as dark as the one in the picture. The description says "walnut finish", I think it might be poplar with a walnut stain. Something else to consider is this will keep whatever you put in it completely sealed off from light; bright light can break down essential oils. Should hold up, it's a chunk of wood and the metal parts seem of quality materials (not an obviously cheap cast part). Time will tell...If your still using the plastic grinder that's part of the bottle no matter how much pepper you use, make the upgrade. Buying whole peppercorns without the disposable grinder is cheaper in the long run and the 100 times better grind is worth it anyway.I bought a second to hold white pepper if that serves as an endorsement. It holds about 1.25oz(35 grams) by weight of peppercorns or about 1/4 cup by volume. I've had one for a while and it has stood up well. The finish has taken a hits near the base but i think it adds character. It is a wood grinder, I bought it to take some abuse. It does medium to fine grind fairly well and despite other reviews I've had no problems with it holding a setting. It will do course but it won't get an even grind; I don't like course so it's not an issue for me. A spice grinder or mortar and pestle is a better tool for course grind. The old one works as well as the new one with no noticeable brake down over about a year. That being said I don't go through a ton of pepper; I'll use maybe one 5oz bottle of peppercorns a year. This would be a good gift if your trying to get someone into fresh cracked pepper. It works well, it's a good size, and if they don't like pepper anyway you didn't spend too much.

I've purchased three of these now. They are excellent products. They look good and grind a large quantity of pepper quickly and well. The first one I purchased had a problem with the finish - it quickly got chipped and stained, even though I was using it gently. I contacted the company, and they replaced it at no charge. The replacement and the other two I've bought have had no problems with the finish.I'm giving 5 stars for great quality and value, but I have two problems to mention. One is that the nut on top gradually becomes loose with normal use. It has to be tightened in order to grind properly. The other is that the description says the grinding mechanism is fully adjustable, but I've never figured out how.
